Title: Accrington want Ince...
Post by: DribblingSissy on Thursday, October 5, 2006, 08:55:56
Whats the chances?

"Accrington Stanley want former England midfielder Paul Ince to join their coaching staff after his contract at Swindon was cancelled by mutual consent."

Only gossip in the Daily Mirror but surely its too far for him to travel still isnt it?!?

He lives in Cheshire, Accrington is just north of Manchester. Not far at all.

Hahahaha... It reminds me of when I heard two teens in the Town End chant "you sad northern bastards" to Southend United fans.

It being funnier as it has the word SOUTH in the name.

To be honest my mistake, I thought it was further away from him than it appears that it actually is......only 60 miles away......wow you learn something new everyday.

A.....B......D...... :twak:

Still like Pieman said, surely they couldnt afford him either?!

I know I know... But... Southend is in the south  :P

Oh and if you there listening to these two kids trying to figure out where Southend was you'd realise how funny it was.  :)

It was against Colchester last time you told that story Rich

I think it's proper fucking stupid when we sing you dirty northern bastards to teams in the midlands to be honest.

Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Newcastle are north.

Nottingham, Leicester, Birmingham and Stoke are midlands.

I don't consider Swindon as west country to be honest. Torquay, Exeter and Plymouth are west country.

Swindon is south.

I dont either, like when they sometimes sing "we are the boys from the west country....."

It made me laugh when someone started singing it in the town end when we played bristol city last season

The consider Wiltshire as the Westcountry... Although Swindon would be the border of what I consider the westcountry.

But that's just me. Times are a-changin' - in 100 years time the whole of the south will be a suburb of London!!!

It's weird, cos i live in north Oxfordshire, our BBC local news is Midlands today, all Birmingham news.

Our ITV local news is Central South, all Oxford based.

I don't really consider Chipping Norton as the Midlands.

IMHO 'old swindon people' think of it as west country, I guess the nucleus of our long term support, but the newer often london overspill population see it as South.  I guess it's south central, but generally people want to pidgeon hole as either south east or south west, and it's definately more west than east, and like people have said we're right in NE Wiltshire, go down to the opposite corner and it's nearly somerset.
