Title: Pokerzone, skychannel 843. Post by: flammableBen on Wednesday, October 4, 2006, 23:29:58 I don't have sky but you can watch it online aswell. Think I've closed one of the windows now so you might have to google it.
Anyway a few of my old uni mates have taken to emailing into poker night live. They've had 9/10 of there emails read out so far, most of them involving a character called Daniel Chine who get's cheated out of money a lot. We sent this one in.. Quote Hi guys - fantastic show as usual, keep it up! Earlier you were asking for stories of the worst poker blunders. I have a hilarious story that illustrates why playing poker on an aeroplane is ill-advised. A few years back my friend was playing some heads-up on a morning flight across America. He has a habit of being on the recieving end of some some terrible bad beats, and on this occasion he hit the stone cold nuts - quad aces. He couldnt keep in his excitement and texted me to tell me that not only had he hit quads, but that his friend had just moved all in for 300 dollars on a bluff! At this point I turned on the news to see that his hand had been brought crashing down, and that he never got to even make the call! Regards, Sanjeef The presenter lady started to read it ("we've got an email here from sanjeef"). Then stopped with a disguested look. I've just sent in... Quote Great show guys! Being able to watch it online is ace. Caught the Poker News in the break and I'd just like to say how much I disagree on America’s stance on online gambling. It seems that as a country they like to pick on minorities be it gamblers, blacks, gays or people who want to have abortions. It makes me glad that I live in sunny Britain!!! Keep up the good work -- Melvin Narona. I hope that get's read out, I want them to say abortion on the telly. Title: Pokerzone, skychannel 843. Post by: yeo on Wednesday, October 4, 2006, 23:39:13 :D

Quote Hi guys - famtastic show, keep up the good work! I recently received what felt like a terrible beat in a home game (50pound buy in) round a friend's house, but, looking back, have started to question whether it was in fact possible to get away from such a hand. I had JQ of hearts preflop so flat called. 4 players saw the flop. The flop was 10 8 8 with two hearts. I put in a small bet with my straight flush draw and got one caller. The turn was another 8 - i made another small bet and was called. The river was the dream card - the 9 of hearts - I had made my straight flush. After a succession of raises, all the money ended up in the pot and to my horror the other player turned turned over an 8 making him quads and taking down the pot. Looking back at the hand, and what appears now to be a pretty scary board, could i have got away from the hand holding such a monster myself? I would appreciate your feedback, Many thanks, Daniel Chine and Quote Hi guys, Wrote in earlier and was amazed by your revelation that my straight flush in fact beats quads. I have spokern to my friend who hosted the game is refusing to pay me back exclaiming that once the hand is conceded then nothing can be done. I am beginning to wonder whether there have been other times when I have folded other losing hands. I remember one occasion for example when my set got beaten by a wheel - KA234 straight and am wondering if this can happen. Could you possibly clear this up and tell me the official rules concerning mucked or conceded hands for future? Cheers Daniel Apperently 2 of the presenters really like Dan Chine Title: Pokerzone, skychannel 843. Post by: yeo on Thursday, October 5, 2006, 00:07:46 :D hahah

They sent in a fake psychology questionaire, I'm afraid I don't have a complete transcript of the answers. Quote Hi Michelle and Dr Tom Great show - keep it up! I have a question for Dr Tom in particular. I am currently studying psychology at degree level and am fascinated in the psychology of the game as I am sure you are too with your monkey studies background! I was wondering if you might partake in a live test on air in order for me to try and profile your poker game? This may give me a much needed edge in the next beat the presenter game! Please answer these questions as quicky as possible without thinking too hard and I will let you know the results before the end of the show! 78 suited or 66? What's your favorite suite? Who would you rather have sat next to you in the Poker All Stars Naked Invitational? Jeniffer Harman or Annie Duke? Whos irritates you more - Mike the Mouth or Phil Hellmuth? Favorite chip colour - Pink or Brown? Would you call a spade a spade? Do you stack your chips high and straight like a tower, or low and dispersed like an acne ridden face? Are hearts a warmer shade of red than diamonds? If you left a hundred monkeys in a poker room for a year, what are the odds that one of them would win the world series the following year? Please take into account the fact that, as I am sure you are aware, statistically 3 are likely to die of baboon flu before the end of that year. Cheers, will let you know the results immediately Jim Harold Apperently the bloke got a bit uncomfortable with the pink or brown question. Anyway following the answers they sent back this (which also got read out)... Quote Dr Tom You may like to know I have processed the results of the psychology test using the poker bot algorithm, and have found the following traits in your character: • Your preference of 66 over 78 suited suggests to me that you are a deeply envious and self pitying character - admit that Mark is right on the matter and you will release a lot of poker tension within you. • Your preference of the darker suites suggests a slight evil undercurrent to your play, however your admission that hearts are a warmer shade of red than diamonds, and your preferred chip colour of pink, suggest a softer edge fighting to get out. Perhaps you should put that nut flush down next time against the short stack - it might make you feel better. • Your dislike of Phil Hellmuth over Mike the Mouth again suggests an unexplored compassion. Whilst The Mouth is the epitomy of annoyance, he has been through some hard times and needs some poker love. Perhaps you are the man to calm him down. • Your happiness to call a spade a spade shows your game to be slightly one-dimensional. You need to think out of the box if you are going to crack that next big tournament. • Your ego might also be hindering your game too. Stack your chips low rather than trying to hide behind a false image of greatness. • As for the monkey question, i am beginning to doubt your qualifications. Every good baboon researcher should know that only 1 in 100 die of flu each year, not 3. Many thanks, hope you have found the results helpful! Reagrds, Jim Title: Pokerzone, skychannel 843. Quote Dear Mark and Doctor Tom, Hi guys - love the new studio, and the new haircut to accompany! I wrote in a couple of nights ago informing you of an omaha game me and my friends were playing. Having made several recent poker blunders which have provided some entertainment on the show before! I was hoping the game would pass off without incident. You asked me to let you know how it went, and I have a terrible feeling that I may have yet again been screwed out of some money. I believed i played a good game up until a certain hand that began to develop. A friend of mine said that he had to leave suddenly, and pushed all his chips in. I was understandably wary of such trickery, but on this occasion I found myself holding a monster - AAAK so I felt compelled to play. It turned out he was bluffing and I made the right call - he turned over 9hearts 10hearts Jspades Qspades, but in line with my terrible luck, he fluked a flush and cracked my hand. A dispute over the chips followed. My friend had gone all in for 24 pounds and feeling I could make even more money, I had moved all in for my entire stack of 38 pounds. My friends all insisted that because it was omaha, he was entitled to win whatever I had bet - in this case all of my money. I realise that poker is not always a fair game but it seems strange that having both gone all in, the best I can win is 24 and the best he can win is 38. Is this what you mean when you talk about the 'pot odds' not being correct to call? I have scoured the internet all day long to find out if anyone else has made a similar complaint and have found nothing. I am sick of being made a mug of, and would greatly appreciate your input on this matter again. Many thanks indeed, Daniel Title: Pokerzone, skychannel 843. here's Daniel Chine 1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbJkLqYdzHM And a double whammy. The slightly racist made up poker terminology followed by Daniel Chine 2 as they get two emails in a row. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHij8qRTxsg possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen Title: Pokerzone, skychannel 843.
