Earlier you were asking for stories of the worst poker blunders. I have a hilarious story that illustrates why playing poker on an aeroplane is ill-advised. A few years back my friend was playing some heads-up on a morning flight across America. He has a habit of being on the recieving end of some some terrible bad beats, and on this occasion he hit the stone cold nuts - quad aces. He couldnt keep in his excitement and texted me to tell me that not only had he hit quads, but that his friend had just moved all in for 300 dollars on a bluff! At this point I turned on the news to see that his hand had been brought crashing down, and that he never got to even make the call!

Caught the Poker News in the break and I'd just like to say how much I disagree on America’s stance on online gambling.

It seems that as a country they like to pick on minorities be it gamblers, blacks, gays or people who want to have abortions.

It makes me glad that I live in sunny Britain!!!

Hi guys - famtastic show, keep up the good work! I recently received what felt like a terrible beat in a home game (50pound buy in) round a friend's house, but, looking back, have started to question whether it was in fact possible to get away from such a hand. I had JQ of hearts preflop so flat called. 4 players saw the flop. The flop was 10 8 8 with two hearts. I put in a small bet with my straight flush draw and got one caller. The turn was another 8 - i made another small bet and was called. The river was the dream card - the 9 of hearts - I had made my straight flush. After a succession of raises, all the money ended up in the pot and to my horror the other player turned turned over an 8 making him quads and taking down the pot. Looking back at the hand, and what appears now to be a pretty scary board, could i have got away from the hand holding such a monster myself?

Hi guys,

Wrote in earlier and was amazed by your revelation that my straight flush in fact beats quads. I have spokern to my friend who hosted the game is refusing to pay me back exclaiming that once the hand is conceded then nothing can be done. I am beginning to wonder whether there have been other times when I have folded other losing hands. I remember one occasion for example when my set got beaten by a wheel - KA234 straight and am wondering if this can happen. Could you possibly clear this up and tell me the official rules concerning mucked or conceded hands for future?

I have a question for Dr Tom in particular. I am currently studying psychology at degree level and am fascinated in the psychology of the game as I am sure you are too with your monkey studies background! I was wondering if you might partake in a live test on air in order for me to try and profile your poker game? This may give me a much needed edge in the next beat the presenter game!

You may like to know I have processed the results of the psychology test using the poker bot algorithm, and have found the following traits in your character:

•   Your preference of 66 over 78 suited suggests to me that you are a deeply envious and self pitying character - admit that Mark is right on the matter and you will release a lot of poker tension within you.

Dear Mark and Doctor Tom,

Hi guys - love the new studio, and the new haircut to accompany!

I wrote in a couple of nights ago informing you of an omaha game me and my friends were playing. Having made several recent poker blunders which have provided some entertainment on the show before! I was hoping the game would pass off without incident. You asked me to let you know how it went, and I have a terrible feeling that I may have yet again been screwed out of some money.

I believed i played a good game up until a certain hand that began to develop. A friend of mine said that he had to leave suddenly, and pushed all his chips in. I was understandably wary of such trickery, but on this occasion I found myself holding a monster - AAAK so I felt compelled to play. It turned out he was bluffing and I made the right call - he turned over 9hearts 10hearts Jspades Qspades, but in line with my terrible luck, he fluked a flush and cracked my hand. A dispute over the chips followed. My friend had gone all in for 24 pounds and feeling I could make even more money, I had moved all in for my entire stack of 38 pounds. My friends all insisted that because it was omaha, he was entitled to win whatever I had bet - in this case all of my money. I realise that poker is not always a fair game but it seems strange that having both gone all in, the best I can win is 24 and the best he can win is 38.  Is this what you mean when you talk about the 'pot odds' not being correct to call?

I have scoured the internet all day long to find out if anyone else has made a similar complaint and have found nothing. I am sick of being made a mug of, and would greatly appreciate your input on this matter again.
