Post by: SwindonTownFC on Saturday, September 30, 2006, 19:40:57
been reported to police by Everton fans, after he was getting stick from them after the game finished he pulled his shorts down and bared his arse at them, apparently they was shouting things to him about his brother who was involved in the murder of lad back in Liverpool

So basically the Evertonians could dish it out but couldnt take it back.

Bunch of Wankers and fair play to Mr Barton.

So it is alright for the fans to abuse Joey Barton all through the game apparently about his brother. But when Barton does something back it is incitement. Fan need to grow up about this.

you're a tool.

he's a professional footballer, they get paid to get stick. if someone did that at work because they were miffed they would get a reaction from them above so why the fuck shouldn't a footballer?

examples for you....

cantona was right to jump at that bloke?

savo milosevic was right to spit at his own fans?

diouf was right to spit at fans?

no no no. there we go. next subject please

Having seen the incident on telly this morning it appears to me to be a load of fuss about fuck all! He pulled his shorts down a bit, big deal. I can't really imagine loads of Evertonians holding a hanky to their heads and passing out into their mates arms who then waves his fist and shouts ' won't somebody think of the children, Barton you cad!'

It's in no way comparable with Cantona's chop socky, or spitting at fans

those were more to show how unprofessionalism is viewed, and maybe a tad excessive. but i do think that the FA need to get some counselling into that lad.

Cantona's attack on the fan in the crowd was one of the funniest things i've seen in football.

did you disregard my latter post then?

i'll establish my position- i don't tihnk it's the worst thing ever, but i don't think he can get away with doing such things. getting the police involved is clever but i do think that something needs to be done
