Title: ratings v boston Post by: DMR on Saturday, September 30, 2006, 18:34:10 brezovan- good distribution and handling, no chance with goal- 7
smith- my motm by a long way, he's impressed me recently and has clearly got a good footballing brain- 8 williams- typically valiant display, backed off for the goal a bit though, otherwise good, very calming influence- 6.5 ifil- sound as ever (how odd to say that of jerel)- 7 vincent- needs to get forward more as i don't think he's particuarly sound at the back- 6 brownlie- shite, general passing was dire. slightly redemeemed by great ball for the goal. but it's not his position and i think wise should look at swapping him and roberts. where's shakes?- 5 weston- anonymous until they were overrunning us- 5 pook- thought he did very well again, plays the simple ball and he's starting to choose the right one- 7 monkhouse- got his goal, well taken but otherwise his mate had the better of it, he needs to carry the ball to the byline more- 6 roberts- was largely a waste of time- 4 peacock- still can't fault his effort but still can't say anything other than he's a bit of a donkey. someone teach him the offside rule! was harshly picked on by the ref- 6 genereally i thought it wasn't very good, boston grew in confidence when they realised our forwards weren't going to hurt them. dropping fola was a mistake, i think we seriously lack a cutting edge. Title: ratings v boston Post by: Bennett on Saturday, September 30, 2006, 18:49:35 i want to disagree...but i can't
i hate you Title: ratings v boston Post by: Johno on Saturday, September 30, 2006, 19:58:57 i wasn't there as i had to work but, why drop fola, he was ace uesday and after tuesday we also knew brownlie can't play as a winger.
Title: ratings v boston Post by: reeves4england on Sunday, October 1, 2006, 12:30:17 Wise has said he thought it unfair to play Fola three times in a week. Perhaps it would e asking too much of somebody who has hardly been a regular. Must take it out of you
Title: ratings v boston Post by: adje on Sunday, October 1, 2006, 13:05:26 Petr The Czech 6-disagree about the goal, got his hand to it and was saving those earlier in the season
Jack Smith 7-agreed mom for me too-he was even our best attacker Jez Ifil 6-Another solid defensive display Ady Williams 6-commanding presence Jamie Vincent 5-I prefer Nicho to be honest, should have dealt with their goalscorer Royce Brownlie 4-completely lost on the right Michael Pook 6-unbelievably our best midfielder Curtis Weston 5-anonymous today Andy Monkfish 5-Always looks (and plays as if)completely knackered, poor use of the ball(goal apart) Christian Roberts 5-off the boil completely-never looks like scoring Lee Peacock 4-worst game I've seen him have in a Town shirt, persistently gave the ball away either with bad distribution or needless free kicks.Attempts to get penalties and free kicks were pathetic. Also never looks like scoring, particularly bad miss from point blank header first half. Fola Onionbaji 4-looked very non-league today Referee 3-what a tosser, since when has taking a free kick too early been a bookable offence?Ridiculous footwear as well ! Jack Smith - 8 - great performance my MOM. Ifil - 6 - Average, one wayward hoof. Williams - 6 - Average, solid. Vincent - 5 - Average, but gets a minus 1 for continually backing off the bloke who scored and not challenging. Brownlie - 6 - though he was good, good linking with Smith, good ball for goal (but where's Shakes) Pooks - 8 - Beaten to MoM by Smithy. Calling for the ball, switching the play. Good game. Weston - 6 - AnonyMoose apart from a couple of attacking runs. Monky - 7 - Good first game back, but too slow. And stop cutting inside, use the width. Roberts - 4 - Deservedly substituted, gone off the boil. Peacock - 6 - Good workrate, but needs to play to the whistle and stop appealing. Fola - 6 - Promising, and a good change. Needs more games Wise/Poyet - 6 - Good change with Fola. Weird sub at the end, just wasted precious time. Maybe should've recognised we weren't going to get another and shut up shop (e.g. Evans for Peacock - 4-5-1). The team must defend leads, not continually look to score. Pook was shockingly good for a change and just edged out by Jack Smith for MOTM. |
