Christ - they're THAT far behind?  I saw that months ago. The new series in the US starts in a fortnight!!!!!

It is good, though. Great line from Lock near the end!

Besides, why are you not watching Big Ron v Iffy?

I will probably tape the Big Ron vs Iffy or watch Saturday night. My Dad normally tapes CSI on channel 5.

Then my memory isn't as bad as I thought.

I initially saw Lost because my mate downloaded it from the States, in the first week it was out before most people had heard of it. However, I resisted to watch anymore than two episodes. There is sod all on telly worth watching these days, so my philosophy is to keep something to watch on a weekly basis, rather than download them and end up watching them in a couple of weeks.

Download 'em and watch them every week. Get your DVD burning software to put a big '4' on the screen before and you're sold.

I could (I've even thought about this) but I like to watch Lost with other people because I can impress (read: bore) them with my ace theories and insight. Also if I download them I'd have to watch them on a crappy laptop screen.

I don't have a dvd burner. Would buy one but don't see the point because I'm going to build my own pc when I get enough cash anyway.

I could probably get a cheap enough dvd player that does divx though

Series three previews on youtube now.

Not much to go on but one of them has Sawyer stuck in what looks like a big bird cage.

Not that impressed with the ending last night again asked so many questions.  By the way the Russian chaps at the end, did they say that they had found "lost"?

Post by: DV on Wednesday, September 27, 2006, 12:52:12
and how did they know the full names of jack and that lot, esp seen as Sawyer has always been know as Sawyer and I think only Kate knows that isnt his name....

Plus, that bit at the end with Desmonds girlfriend Penny and the Russians made no fucking sense at all....

i know its all wierd as hell! i think Locke knows Sawyers real name too but even then how the hell would they know? i can only assume Desmond's Ex-Girlfriend or whatever the hell she is was tracking him and paying them Russians to do it

Desmond's lady (Penny) was getting those dude in Antarctica to try and find him.

The 'Others' are obviously much more in the know than has been hinted at so far. THey seem to know what everyone is doing on their island.

I reckon they're Dharma Initiative folk and have been abandoned there. Not sure why really.

but how did not pushing the button show then where Desmond was....he wasnt even supposed to be on the island....he just woke up there!!!

Unless his ex-girlfriend somehow managed to get him there, and that was a test to get his honour back.....?!?!

Possibly....however the sheer amount of questions I dont think they will all ever be answered.....I mean Michael and Walt have been told where to go to get resuced, which begs the question why do the other still live there if they know they can get out

Also, Desmond, Locke and Eko....dead or alive?!

Just a note for those planning to download season 3.  They are showing I think 7 episodes starting on Oct 4th and then taking a break until February when they will show the remaining 13 or so without any breaks.

do we get to see it in the UK all at once or do we get 7 as well

I've no idea when Channel 4 will start to show but it will probably be the same as the last two years a weekly show with a two part finale.

It will probably be after the show has finished in the US again so quicker to download it - plus you don't have those annoying 118 ad breaks every ten mintues.

:(  I used to watch Lost all the time. Ever since I got back from holiday though I gradually lost interest and only watch it now and again. Will the repeat of this one be on sunday do you think?

I think perhaps they stay there because of the "healing" powers of the island.  Either they are using it for experimentation purposes or they are ill themselves and have to stay there to stay healthy.

Actually, I don't have a clue!

But they've turned off the Giant Magnet thing. So they're all going to get sick again. Locke with his legs and Rose with her cancer and Hugo with his eating...

Didnt Hurley have a passenger list at the start of the first series?  Maybe there was another or he just lost it and the others got hold of it. Pretty sure Sawyers real name came up then

i'm pretty sure t'others did get hold of the full passenger list for the flight.

Post by: grayx on Thursday, September 28, 2006, 10:25:24
Yes Hurley did have the flight manifest and wandered how James Ford was ?  It was also how they first found out Ethan wasn't on the flight.

'The others' however when they attacked the group that contained Eko, Anna Lucia and co also had their own list of names of people to take.

In regards to Desmond, Locke and Eko alive or dead, they are all confirmed as cast members for the next series.

I was thinking today at work. Dharma means something to do spirituality. Could it be that these folks signed up to it (or were forced to) to better their lives? The others (who refer to themselves as 'the good ones') have some sort of understanding about the island (the nature of it) and so have sort enlightenment (or whatever) and therefore know stuff. This might be why they don't want to leave. I think the others are the equivalent of the Lost island's monks (and perhaps why they wear no shoes).

The island does seem to be testing people's faiths/beliefs. For instance Locke and the other hatch. The island seems to be doing this on purpose from time to time. Whether the island is real or is some sort of virtual/alternate reality (maybe like the film 'Open Your Eyes/Vanilla Sky' is also an interesting debate).

Walt has special powers doesn't he? I guess they were on about him able to appear in other places (like when Shannon died). That's why they were asking Michael about that when he got captured.

Perhaps the boat has some sort of tracker on it that the Russians are trying to trace that has thus far proved to be ineffective.

The magnetic pulse that was set off created a boost, if you will, making the tracker stronger and forcing a reading on the Russians detecting device?
