I've had a really shite week though tbh. Some good news would be nice.

From an STFC point of view  it isn't best either is it.

- We are apparently over budget
- We have 900K CVA to pay
- We have a manager who seem he might piss off
- SSW won't/can't invest more that the minimum to keep the club going until a ground is redeveloped/built.

We were achieving something and now we look to be heading back to the crapper.

Worse things happen in life, but from a football point of view things look pretty dire.

Power was the 1st person for god knows how long who was actually interested in investing in the team.

Weve been crap ever since the whole issue of a new stadium cash cow was put forward. Couldnt we just have ONE person running the club who was interested in having a decent football team? No, it appears not.

Well it won't go on for ever. The club cannot lurch from one crisis to another indefiniltey. One day, some one, somewhere will pull the plug.

One way or the other last season we were drip fed cash, we may be OK this season but things need to change after that (more investors/ground redevelopment).

Well here's some news for all you pesimistic arogant know it all F*CKS......we've been through worse times and we will no doubt have better times too ...... other teams have been through worse than us so get over it!

If you truely support this club, you'll obviously be curious about whats happening (for the safety of our future) but there is NO point what so ever in making such drastic assumptions based on nothing but rumours..........It doesnt help..... it just causes fans like the idiots on some other threads of this forum, to decide not to go to the games!

If anyone here really cares about this club on this forum, then GO TO THE GAMES, SUPPORT THE TEAM, GET BEHIND THE MANAGEMENT and make it impossible for the likes of Devlin and Wise etc to ever want to leave, if thats what your so concerned with..........

If your worried about the money side, then here's some other suggestions for you all:

1) Stop spending your money on an internet connection and give the money to the club if your that worried that the board cant do a good enough job of the finances.
2) Do you do the lottery???........well stop and give that money as a donation to the club cause you'll have more chance of helping swindon town than winning anything!
3) If some of you are as suicidal as most of the comments I've just trauled through suggest, then you have bigger problems on your plate than Swindon Town football club so get a life.

Sorry but anyone could be forgiven when reading this site for forgetting that we are 2ND IN THE F**KING LEAGUE!!!

I'm quite surprised that the reaction has been as good as it has been to be honest.

Most people are concerned and obviously a bit pissed off but in terms of doom mongering I don’t think it’s been too bad at all.  If you have a scan at a couple of other forums you’d have thought the titanic has just sank.

I’m a tad more concerned with Wise at the moment.  Chatting away to a Leeds fan the other night and he told me that Blackwell had only just been given three weeks to turn it around by Bates when on the same day that the Bill Power episode kicked off he’s suddenly sacked.  He’s absolutely convinced Wise will be unveiled next week.

Fair enough, mountains and molehills and all that, but you don't take account of the fact that the very nature of football has changed since '69 and '70, and that the simple fact is clubs need money to survive.  Just wanted to make the point.

Of course that's what it is about - it just seems to be getting more and more difficult for clubs to put that first.  Ideally, the money thing wouldn't even come into it  - but that all changed the day the breakaway clubs decided to enter the Premiership.

Still, if we carry on performing as we have been (pre-Perterborough) hopefully attendances will remain high and the money won't be so much of an issue.  Time will tell....

Unfortunately my passion and belief in the town doesnt extend to the fans......
Whilst disregarding the backroom dealings I am confident of a good footballing season.....I doubt the fan base will continue unless Wise is definately still here and the rest of the problems behind the scenes are resolved.......but hey......if i'm wrong i'll be a very happy man to continue to see the bigger gates at the games each week!

yeah me too. a lot of people have bought season tickets this year so i cant see gates going down too much especially if we are doing well. as long as Wise is still here we wont get much of the gate

Dont get me wrong i worry a lot about if we'll still be here next year, in 10 years and all that, but I just remind myself why I go....for the game and as much as i'd hate it if we went bust etc.....there will always be a team to watch, even if there amateurs run by STFC BART.........forgive me that was simply wrong to say....even i'd question watching if that were the case! :?

unless this gets sorted stat, gates will fall people want to come and see a sucessful club on and off the pitch,

people thought we were past these problems, its pritty obvious were not and these "problems" in the board room remind people of previous years and seasons gone by, which obviously bring negative thoughts to the forfront of peoples minds

and refering too alot of people have bought season tickets, i am quiet sure that its not over the 4k mark so that leaves around 3 to 4 thousand who can choose not to attend and thats were the profit margins come in.

If we continue our run, with Wise in charge, people will come.
If Wise leaves but we continue our run, people will come though maybe a few less if a nobody gets the job.

I  don't think success off the field has much to do with attendance as such, though the better run we are the more cash we have for players. The better players we have the more success on the field we have...

Agreed, if Wise stays and we keep winning crowds won't fall. People may be f*cked off with what's going on behind the scenes, but I don't think they'll stop going. We don't go to watch the board - we go to watch us win games.
