Title: Today's performance... Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Saturday, September 16, 2006, 19:20:58 OK then home boys.
I am as gutted as the next man that we lost today. I did not go today so I obviously cannot comment on any aspect of the game. I would just like to ask this question of those who did go: Forgetting the score line, was today's performance really any worse than any of the others this season? I mean, a few people slagged off Martin Allen's post match reaction when he said we created very little going forward (or summit like that), but let's face it (and I WAS at the Franchise game) he was right. How many saves did their keeper make? How many chances did we actually create? That tends to get forgotten because we won. I am not being a 'doom and gloom' merchant, nor am I pushing the 'panic' button. On the contrary, I'm guessing we weren't that bad today. As I said, I was not there so put me straight. Remember - You have to FORGET the score line, we are talking performance levels here. WERE WE THAT BAD? Title: Today's performance... Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Saturday, September 16, 2006, 19:22:47 tbh OST we have been poor all season so we must be something right. when we get our asses into gear and start playing we can walk this league. but intil then it's play-offs at best
Title: Today's performance... Post by: DV on Saturday, September 16, 2006, 19:24:49 Defensive performance was goods....midfield got missed out as always.....
the quality in the final 3rd was worse than any game I've seen this season....in most games we have looked capable of scoring. So we didnt create much against the dons, this was due to the fact their centre halves had good games and kept us out. We didnt create anything today, due to our own ability to do anything! When we got it out wide, the crosses were poor, when we pumped it into the box most players didnt bother to challenge for it. Against MK we tried to create chances and they stopped us, today our own shitness stopped us creating chances Title: Re: Today's performance... We deserved the win on Tuesday, but today, we werent at the races Title: Today's performance... Post by: DV on Saturday, September 16, 2006, 19:26:12 also, he used to get alot of critism...but Andy Monkhouse!!!!
Title: Today's performance... Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Saturday, September 16, 2006, 19:26:37 Brezovan has been poor since the Hartlepool game! his mistake led to the goal today and ive not been impressed with him that much tbh
Title: Today's performance... Post by: Scot Munroe on Saturday, September 16, 2006, 19:51:34 are defence was alright today. But drop roberts please. He did not looked interested. Hs free kick at the end sumed it up.
Title: Today's performance... Post by: stfc11 on Saturday, September 16, 2006, 20:10:00 like they said on the radio it was like watching the swindon of last season at some points!
Title: Today's performance... Post by: Batch on Saturday, September 16, 2006, 21:02:47 We haven't played brilliant flowing football this season that's true. But (at home) up to the Franchise game I think we did create a lot of chances.
Today we didn't carve anything out of note. Roberts hit the post. Evo had a long distance free kick saved. A Brownlie header was more than comfortably saved. That's all we did, and whilst I have no complaints about the result Peterborough were a poor side today. Title: Today's performance... Post by: ron dodgers on Saturday, September 16, 2006, 21:13:44 no Sonic - it was poor - I still am trying to remember something good
all i could say was it was just like last season Title: Today's performance... Post by: sonic youth on Saturday, September 16, 2006, 21:16:09 today was poor, no doubting that but to say we've been rubbish all season is a remarkable overreaction.
Title: Today's performance... Post by: Amir on Saturday, September 16, 2006, 21:25:48 The best bit about today was half-time. There just didn't seem to be any invention, as good as Paul Evans has been playing little dinks to the wings just don't help us, and as has been said before the wings are coming inside too much(meaning you get Roberts out wide alot when he should be in the box). Weston's not a winger, I'd rather see Holgate playing than Ince at this moment in time, and Fola was our biggest threat.

Post by: DMR on Saturday, September 16, 2006, 23:24:01 We haven't hit top gear- a testament to the potential of this squad- but we've not been 'poor' until the last 2 or 3 games, depending on how you rated MKD
Title: Today's performance... Post by: Spencer_White on Sunday, September 17, 2006, 12:47:43 I think it was that bad.
We'll probably drop 400 home fans for the next game because of that performance. Title: Today's performance... Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, September 17, 2006, 12:52:43 We didn't look like we wanted it and failed to create anything. It was one bad game, it was bound to happen sooner or later.
My worry is that we always seem to want it more in the 2nd half - why can't we play like that from the outset. I'd agree with your statement about the attendance SW. Title: Today's performance... Post by: Luci on Sunday, September 17, 2006, 14:57:14 Talking of fans I'm suprised that we got as many as we did being 2 games in a week. People are forking out a lot of cash and if we reproduce a performance like that I can see us losing more than 400.
Title: Today's performance... Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, September 17, 2006, 14:59:09 I won't be at the next home game because I'm going paintballing for my mates birthday but he's been this season and a couple of my other mates are going on about going. It seems the Wise factor is attracting new people to the groud, especially with Ince on board as well now.

Totall agree with that! Title: Today's performance... Post by: janaage on Monday, September 18, 2006, 08:28:26 I hate to say it but gambling on getting Ince back to 100% fitness by plaing him has been a huge mistake over the last two games. Evans and Weston in the centre offer much more. Evans seems to stop himself playing his natural game when playing alongside Ince.
Full credit to Den pull "pulling Incey off" at half time though, it's what we needed. I think we have been poor in quite a few matches this season, we need to start playing footie again instead of constantly by-passing the midfield. Oh and someone please shoot Shakes, he's taken over from Ifil as hooooooooooooooof merchant of the team. Title: Today's performance... Absolutely correct. He should be training 24/7 and playing in the stiffs. Title: Today's performance... Post by: janaage on Monday, September 18, 2006, 08:40:07 Which makes last weeks decision to not make him train and just "go for a jog" near his house seem a little strange.
The bloke was blowing out of his arse within half an hour. I'm not balming Ince or Wise really as it's a gamble that hasn't paid off. Title: Today's performance... Post by: Piemonte on Monday, September 18, 2006, 11:20:59 Ignoring the scoreline, it was far and away the worst performance I've seen this season. (i didnt go to Wrexham so cant compare)
- The passing was shocking - The once chance we made came from a p'boro mistake - At least half of the team were not up to scratch in terms of effort - Final ball into the box was diabolical Title: Today's performance... Personally I'll be happier to see Jack Smith in the back 4, not that Shakes did badly all things concidered mind. Problem with Saturday was we suffered from lethargy. We just looked like we couldn't be arsed or were physically incapable. Title: Today's performance... Post by: Piemonte on Monday, September 18, 2006, 11:37:00 Agreed. I think it was a mixture of physical and mental lethargy from the Franchise game. It shouldnt have happened though.
Its not like Peterbrough were actually any good either. Title: Today's performance...
