I am really impressed with Roberts and Peacock, their work rates are excellent.

Are they prolific strikers though? They strike me as the kind of players who have played as secon strikers/behind the main ones?

i think both are capable of playing at this level and scoring goals. they've both done it in the past at this level too, although neither have scored 20 goals.

however, i think the pressure on the strikers to score all the goals is lessened this year as i've no doubt our midfield and defence will chip in with more goals than we've seen in the last few years thanks to the organisation and focus on set pieces.

I think now Roberts has one, he will become prolific

roberts just seems to have a lot more pace and strength about him than most other strikers in this division.

remember when plymouth won the league, i think mickey evans was their top scorer with about 13.

Brownlie is looking good aswell.

And when we won div 4 in 85-86, Charlie Henry, a midfielder, was top scorer with 18 goals. Colin Gordon (now agent for Theo Walcott amongst others I believe) was the top scoring striker with 16. Peter Coyne (striker/midfielder) got 11, then it was spread around the squad really.

You don't have to have 'prolific' strikers to be successful. That said, Roberts' and Peacock's contributions yesterday cannot be faulted and I can see them getting 35 between them this season. Added to that though, I can also see them getting a fair few assists as well i.e. Roberts won the free kick from which we scored the first yesterday and Peacock laid the second on a plate for Roberts for the second.

It's all good.

 This is a favourite of mine, when peeps say you need a 20 goal striker.

 When Plymuff equalled our points record, the leading scorer was the centre half Coughlin, who played a few for us under McMahon, with 11.....then the leading striker was Marino Keith with 9....Friio got 8 from midfield and Mickey Evans  7.....

 They scored 71 in total.

I'm confident that we will see them both go on a scoring run and that come May, we'll have a 35-40 goal partnership. Once the team clicks properly and the chances are flowing, we'l become far more prolific across the board. I've also got a feeling Evans will get into double figures by the way!

I think the midfield has goals in it. Shakes could get a few if he improves his finishing as he's always in the right positions, Evans looks perfectly capable of finding the net and I'm sure Weston will bag 5-10 from what I have seen of him

Indeed - Living in Plymouth I'm constantly reminded of the genius and cunning of one Mickey Evans.

Shame he's got a crap goalscoring record - 87 goals in close to 500 league games.

I cant see Peacock scoring 15+ goals this season as he likes to get back, help defend, and sets up chances.

Roberts will have enough chances to score 15plus goals this season,  its a matter of whether he does the business though

The work rate of Roberts and Peacock is first class.  And like others have said if our midfield can chip in with a few the fact that neither end up with 20+ goals this season shouldn't be of concern.
