Just wondering how many fans you're planning on bringing up on Saturday? Feel free to pop into one of the bars before the game. Good luck for the rest of the seaon. I'm expecting a close game, but I can see us nicking it 1-0 to be honest. (Obvioulsy I'm biast though :D ) Title: Darlo game Post by: Bennett on Tuesday, August 15, 2006, 00:02:25 hello. we've counted 5 so far

Title: Darlo game Post by: Nomoreheroes on Tuesday, August 15, 2006, 05:43:35 I remember playing Darlo at the County Ground midweek in the 80s when the total away support was outnumbered by the number of stewards in the away end.
It was embarrassing when they scored and a total of 5 fans celebrated. It was even more embarrassing when we lost ! Would be happy if there was 300 also msnquaker, are you from the tinshed ( http://www.the-tinshed.co.uk/ )? not as much bollocks as us but a good read all the same Title: Darlo game Post by: Bushey Boy on Tuesday, August 15, 2006, 07:44:26 I have 2 in my car, thats 12 in total. We have good away support compared to most teams 8)Title: Darlo game Post by: Tails on Tuesday, August 15, 2006, 11:31:57 According to football ground guide theres no pubs in the area of the ground. boo!
Darlington have signed Alun Armstrong and Julian Joachim. Apparently they play 3 upfront, I think they're going for a 4-1-5 Title: Darlo game Post by: RobertT on Tuesday, August 15, 2006, 11:33:20 They'll play Giallanza and Conlon with Joachim if they go with a 3 I would think.

Title: Darlo game Post by: normy on Tuesday, August 15, 2006, 13:21:36 My aged brain was telling me that we signed a Darlo player in the 1960's and I could picture him playing for us, dark haired and upright build.
Checked it out, and it was James Lawton, who we exchanged for our Alan Sproates, a virtual unknown, in 1965. Lawton scored 4 goals for us in 13 games, I remember him scoring, then he left for Watford in 1967. Jimmy Lawton...think we paid 12K with Sproates going in the other direction, Quakers got the best of the deal, as Sproates did 305 league games for them as opposed to the 3 for us....Sproates did have a pretty good haircut though. Jimmy Lawton was also a decent cricketer and turned out for the STFC side in the midweek Swindon Minor Works Cricket League. Don't know why it says we have no bars, there are two that I know of. The best one if probably the one next to the club shot/ticket office. Has a big screen as well in the bar, always fun to watch a match on Sky before hand if there is one. Have a safe journey.
