Personally I think he will join by Thursday....just a hunch but i can't see why he'd go to WB considering he really wants to get in on the coaching side of things! (unless they have offered him a coaching role in which case we have no chance!)

i think Posh must have been the "4th" club interested in him. we knew about Birmingham and West Bum but not about them. does it not say Walsall are after him too?  :shock: he says he wants to keep playing but get coaching badges so i reckon he will still come here

I am slowly losing interest in the whole ince saga. Do we really need him? He is class and would slot into the midfield nicely, but for one season surely there must be some younger players out there. We have Pooky (who is slowly getting better), Smith, Wise and Poyet if neeeded, Whalley when back from injury...

I think the fact Wise is here is a big bonus on our oart, but we will just have to wait and see I suppose

the fact is that it looks like we will also offer him the assistant managers job.we can also offer him the added bonus that if wise does well in the next two years then he and gus will move on leaving ince as the likely replacement and im sure this is what is being talked about..look at his options realistically wba if robson goes are they likely to offer the job to ince i dont think it is likely and his experience of wolves last mnth may make him realise that..peterborough he can get probably the same options as he can at swindon but im sure wise will show him that this time next year we are more likely to be in a better position than them..

I'm inclined to agree with the pessimistic view here (shock, horror!)  I think his ego may well make up his mind to stay in a high a division as possible.  WBA also closer to his home.  I hope I'm wrong.

the delays were down to the heightened security in airports delaying his return from holiday.

I think he has every right to take time to make a decision, he obviously came back to the UK as quick as he could to sort this out as his family still haven't flown home!

A lot of these clubs have surfaced fairly recently so there will be upped offers, negotiations etc.

Ince had a magnet in his shoe. He wanted a face to face offer and knew the magnet would cause a security alert, thus delaying his return. He can now demand more as the initial face to face offer was missed.

Amusingly, someone has been on to wikipedia and added Paul Ince to our current squad list.  Come on then, own up.

A lad like Ince will probably have more than a couple of decisions to make regarding his future in football, i.e. moving home, family schooling, future career prospect enhancement etc. so he's not going to rush a decision just to keep us lot happy. I'm delighted enough to have our club linked to the fella (and individuals of his character again - it's been a while) so quite frankly he can take as long as he likes to make his decision.

I've got to say, I'm holding onto to the fine thread that a player who wears his heart on his sleeve like he does would find it hard to switch across the Black Country to the Baggies - especially after clearly stating he will return one day to Molineux as manager. Who knows what kind of bond he'll strike up with the Baggies fans if he goes there?! That alone could make it all but impossible to jump ship for a return to the custard dome.

Fuckin hell. Incase you haven't noticed, where in the same division as peterbrough.Therefore, theres not much difference from inces point of view, as we are both league 2 sides. The only slight advantage we have, is that we have dennis wise.

Posh are offering assistant manager role, while we're just offering coaching...assistant is more hands on and therefore could be more tempting.

But he wants coaching to get his badges!  Assistant would involve more duties that perhaps he doesn't want to be involved with until he gets his qualifications?

look at Gareth Southgate tho. He's at Boro with no badges and he's the manager. Everyone has presumed he's coming here. So what he knows wise, paul ince will do whats right for Paul Ince. I hope he does come, but lets just get on with it because it must be unsettling some of the players at the club.
