Title: shakes' goal
Post by: strooood on Wednesday, August 9, 2006, 19:55:52
why has no one mentioned it?

no doubt he meant it and what a corker. to curl it into that corner with your right foot is nigh on impossible.

funny though, in pre season i said to spencer, for all shakes' graft and running he's never got an end product, he'll get to the byline but he'll never cross well and certainly never score. he always gets in the same position and usually a good result is him winning a corner as his wayward cross is blocked by a defender.

then he pops up with that gem. more of the same please.

The general consensus is that it was a cross and he did not mean it, even wise thought that.

went in and that's all that matters

I reckon our Ricky has struck upon a bit of footballing genius, having a laugh in the face of all the great wingers of years gone by who cross into the box for the man...when all along he's known he just needs to ping it in the far corner

as soon as he struck it, I thought, dopey fuck, Peacock's miles back. Changed my mind fairly sharpish on that one

At the end of the day it went into the back of the net, whether he meant it or not! lets not take that away from him! If I were him I would everyone I meant it and that I'd been working on it for some time!
