I refer the gentleman to the following post

page 4 or 5. Easy to miss given the thread title is about predictions.

Good to see though. I'm sure Mark D will be happy with that also. Although possibly not quite as happy as he is to be alive :|

So if we keep getting crowds like that, O'Hanlon plays 30 games for MK and Ipswich sell Parkin for £300k we might actually have some money to spend.  :beers:

we already do.  Wise has been told he can use the money from the O'Hanlon sale if needed.

Just proves the potential this club has. We should be in the upper echelons (sp) of the championship, not league 2.

Not sure about the upper echelons, as average crowds for that "pack" is around 20,000 which we've not managed in the modern era. Not to mention the 15,000 capacity.

But I would agree that STFC has the potential to be a consistant championship side.

It might be used to cover the losses in Winners though!  Following the recent facination with Magners, they seemed a bit lost on how to deal with ice crisis, and as such the queues were tremendous.  I don't think they were serving, just waiting for someone to get the ice!!!

Poncey bastards, just order a lager and be done with it.

and to cover the barmaids new replica shirts.

the new blonde one is dippy as hell. I got there earlyish and ordered a drink for me and my mate, she stood the looking blank for what must have been 10 seconds.

I asked her is she was trying to add it up in her head and finally after another couple of seconds she bimbo laughed and said "£5.30 please"

she'd still get it though

if I wasnt so scared of my mrs

And Magners drinkers are gay. I'm liking the bud in there though

Apologies for duplicate thread.

Mid championship club yep, upper no.  I'd be happy with being a upper League 1 club.

I honestly think if we get a couple more decent results we'll be pushing 10,000.

Good form will bring in 8000+ crowds until it starts getting cold and wet!!!

I think to be honest this club would be comfortable in league 1 given the size and situation. However if we started having success the potntial for support is great and we COULD push for The Championship.

Saying we would be comfortable there is optimistic though!!!

Could push for the championship?  eh?

Do you mean push to win it, or be in it.  Hope it's the former as we already pushed for the championship a couple of years ago.

We'll push for the championship and one day we'll be pushing for the premiership!

Unfortunately things have been amiss for a very long time attendance wise. Last 10 years weve only had one good season, and even that was overshadowed by Kingy alienating a lot of our fans and high ticket prices.

Hopefully now weve got management we can all get behind, a winning team, reasonable prices and a winning team again, attendances might begin to recover to what they were early 90's.

Mate it's the way football works you have you bad times and good times.  We'll be back in the Championship one day and when we are we have as much a chance as anyone.

If you had told reg in 85 that in 5 years time Swindon would win their place in the top flight I doubt whether he'd have believed you.

I'm sure that if we are up challenging for promotion this year we will get bigger crowds in this league than we got in league one last year, same as we got bigger crowds when going for promotion a couple of years ago than when we got relegated in 1999/2000. Everyone likes to see a winning team.

does anyone think that were all getting a bit carried away
the thing with this division is if we lose a couple of games in a row
attendances will drop very quickly
because there wont be many opposistion teams that are fans will come out 2 see.
(hope not though)

I've said all along that a good start to this season is essential and could (hopefully) provide the platform for a successful season, both in terms of team performance and financial performance.

Another win and good crowd on saturday will do nicley.

Is there something in the water that's making everybody taller? Maybe that would explain the high attendance? On second thoughts that theory is bollocks because I'm still a short arse.

No, the pitch is made of canabis this season thus making the crowd high. :doobie:
