not only was the townend literally shaking last night (fucking well done guys - they could probably hear you in oxford!) but the nationwide was noticably louder than usual too. to all you lot in the north stand, was the nationwide full? hard to tell when sat in it. but yea, pretty good atmosphere even in the nationwide. if we keep this up all seasonit would be great.

NW was about 75% full.  Central blocks were sold out but a few spaces on the wings and down the front.  Arkells same as always it seemed, TE seemed nice and cosy but I think the standing made it seemed more packed than it would be if we all sat down :wink:

Its all about the Nationwide.  I'm sorry, but I can't stand the non-view from the Town End.

i can see that little group in the north stand next to the away section gradually growing in size. i see a little trouble coming their way especially if theres no police!  :mrgreen:

Wasn't there a bit of singing started off in the Arkells in the 2nd half. Couldn't believe my ears...

No Pat Butcher = standing in the TE. Time she retired anyway

View from the Nationwide is miles better, but the town end isn't that bad plus the atmosphere is 10x better than it is in the Nationwide.

You cannot argue with the view from the Nationwide but the buzz I get from the Town End wins it hands down. I can't stand the thought of having to sit down or having to be quiet

(I know that this isn't the case in all areas of the NW)

its good in the town end when swindon scored right in front of you too...makes it worth it. shame all of last nights goals were up the other end!

Up in the Arkells, i think in the 2nd half when Shakes scored something happed because police ran up. Probably just some fans argueing, mouthing off.

Dropped my lad off at nursery this morning and one of the nursery workers asked if it was a good crowd last night - she said her and her husband were sat in their back garden and heard the roar from the winner going in. They live on the far side of Stratton!

mate, there are a number of us in the nationwide that try time and time again to generate an atmosphere in the stand. the problem is simple, there are too many people who dont want to sing, or shout. they just simply want to sit and watch. which is fair enough, you cant change the habits of people. we try our best and sometimes it works

the biggest problem ere old chap, is that you are exposed.  In the original days of that stand it was full up in the corner so you'd have people able to feel a little less...on their own.  people will join in, but only once they feel nice an anonymous.  hence why the TE can work, especially when allowed to stand, and why standing was always so much better.

a couple of barnet fans started walking towards the swindon fans when we scored, nothing major.

Fuck me that must have been intimidating!

it's nice sitting up there, although it was painful at times last season when there was about a dozen of us sat looking glum as we got thrashed...

My first time in the NW with my new season ticket last night. Was in the Arkells last season and after just one game I can say NW wins hands down.

Also, I noticed in the NW last night that there were sections of the crowd singing and shouting that normally don't (nearer to the TE). Haven't seen that for ages.

The banter is good but not if you're losing by more than 1 goal.

That bit has always sung, just not very loudly. I was there last season but got so fed up of the shit atmosphere I gave up my good view to sit in the Town End which, judging by last night, was a pretty good move  :mrgreen:

aye, it was embarassing to sit there sometimes when we were so rubbish on the pitch

I saw one of the stewards led out of the Arkells last night. Seems he took a bit of a knock when a few (no more than half a dozen) Barnet fans tried to rush towards our lot after the equaliser. So, no major incidents but I'm sure the steward would have preferred not to have been there!

It's all about the Town End.  I'm sorry, but I can't stand the view from the Nationwide.

I'm moving into the Nationwide for Saturday, I'm fed up of missing goals like Brownlie's cos we're too far away in the Townend  :(

Where are the singsters in the Nationwide, cos I don't want to be on my own - I've not got the best singing voice  :)

arkells was ace last night, i think it might have been the melksham lads who were up there, barnet tried to kick off after super goal and one lad tried to clamber across the nets, twatted a steward in the process, i dont think he was that threatening as my 59 year old father was stood opposite laughing and calling him a wanker. 20 barnet lads tried to kick off outside and they got run.

im sure its ok its not songs of praise or anything

I went in the Nationwide last nite .. good crowd .. good atmosphere when the goal went in :)  but u cant beat Town End for atmos

Thats one thing I'll miss about the Nationwide... But aslong as the net bulges I'm happy.

sit in arkells its a giggle and you can shout abuse at the northerners

The young lads at the bank end try and make some noise but you'll be better off up the other end with me, joining in the town end songs :wink:

I sit in NW3 (the top of the T) and to be fair if the games good then the atmosphere at that end of the stand is pretty good too. For the most part I couldn't hear the townend on tues night, which either means the townend wern't singing or we were singing louder...........

The Barnet game was well loud.

I was in the stratton bank end of the nationwide last year. The atmospheres ok, but after sampling the town end on tuesday, i know which one i prefer.

Town end = Good atmosphere + Shit view

But no ralphy!!!

Hope all those glory hunters ( :wink: ) dont start moaning that everyone is standing up. That what started to happen last time.

In the Scottish football museum at Hampden theyve got a section dedicated to drinking at football. Proper old school pictures of fans queing up at the turnstiles with a can of Skol in back pocket.

I really hope that the TE isn't filled up with old moaning silent gits!!

The solution is obviously just to get your ticket early but people don't seem to get that!

I hope the club are going to put something on the official site as they don't want people turning up on matchday expecting to pay £15 and having to pay £20 or not bothering.

Rochdale won't bring many so couldn't they open the stratton bank (in the part where the cardboard cut outs aren't ) and charge £15 for town fans to go in there?  May encourage a few more to turn up.

have the box office said anything about the likely attendance for the rochdale game?

I haven't heard anything......I would call but if its as busy as Tuesday game on the phone lines Im not waiting for 25 mins!

Rang up and booked our tickets at around 12 o'clock today and got straight through this time. Mind you, i guess a lot of people are still working at that time....

Im not too bothered. Came away on tuesday wishing Id had a better view of Royces goal. It was probably one of the best goals ever scored at the CG. Certainly one of the best Ive ever seen.

And then theres the lager at HT. When you finnish work at 12 it can be a struggle to get properly pissed!  :mrgreen:
