Does that make her a bi-plane? Title: formula one Post by: Gelbfüßler on Monday, August 7, 2006, 19:25:17 Red Bull have signed Mark Webber for next season! :o
Who replaced Sauber? Midland? No they bought out Jordan, hmmmmmmmm Title: formula one Post by: Northern Red on Monday, August 7, 2006, 19:27:56 BMW is the old Sauber
Midland is the old Jordan Webber & Coulthard for Red Bull next year could be good - it'll be an Adrian Newey designed car for next season as well (Ex-McLaren Design Maestro). They'll be up there next season... Title: formula one Post by: Gelbfüßler on Monday, August 7, 2006, 19:32:30 Of course, BMW - forgot about them
Adrian Newey is also ex-Williams in their glory days if I remember rightly. Not a bad bloke to have on your side. What's Gascoigne up to nowadays? Only remember him for his name, wasn't he at BAR recently? Totally lost interest about 6 years ago and have really struggled to get back into it, it's not what it used to be unfortunately. Who says technology is a good thing? Mike Gascoigne left Toyota earlier this year. Don't think he's got a new role anywhere else as yet. Title: formula one Post by: Northern Red on Monday, August 7, 2006, 19:40:35 Mike Gascoigne was sacked by Toyota and I'm not sure where he is now...
Newey has designed four Championship cars at least, he's considered the best designer there is: Villeneuve and Hill (Williams), Hakkinen x 2 (McLaren) F1 has two more years before it'll get better - 12 teams in 2008 (plus Prodrive with Dave Richards), new engine rules just announced ("Boost Buttons" for overtaking). Sure he left by mutual consent to spend more time with his family rather than keep commuting to Toyota HQ in Cologne. I might have misheard that though. Title: formula one Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Monday, August 7, 2006, 19:45:07 I lost interest about 5 or 6 years ago as well really. Was really dull when ferrari were loads better than anyone else. I might start watching again if Button starts winning a few more races though.

Title: formula one Post by: Gelbfüßler on Monday, August 7, 2006, 20:11:22 No way! Didn't realise Dave Richards was entering a team?
Wonder what their line-up will be Colin McRae and James Thompson? :soapy tit wank: I lost interest in Rally (lack of competitive Brits) in BTCC (forced rule changes ruined it) in recent years too come to think of it, shame, I used to enjoy them. Despite his superb efforts Sunday I can#t see Button having anything but an outside chance at a podium in "normal" conditions. Ferrari, Renault and McLaren look that little bit stronger, though Renault seem to be struggling a bit now. I'm sure that Honda will come good next year and be genuine title contenders. Title: formula one Post by: Bogus Dave on Tuesday, August 8, 2006, 09:35:32 I reckon Mclaren will win it next season. Renalut are goin to be nothing without alonso, and ferrari will fall backwards aswell. Red bull are going to do good, with webber and coulthard. Formula one is great.
Title: formula one Post by: Leggett on Tuesday, August 8, 2006, 10:08:54 no its not. its still a bit rubbish, it takes wanky weather to make it an interesting race. remember the Hungaroring is an absolute cunt to pass on in good weather conditions.
Karlsruhe, the BTCC had to change. there was only a few of the manufacturers left from the glory days of the Super Touring class, its was too expensive and not competitive enough. with the current set-up, privateer teams stand a chance (you've gotta remember, matt neal's ITR is a privateer team, as are the WSR's MGs, plus a raft of others, including one that's based at the honda plant in swindon) I personally think its a whole lot better, alot closer, alot more fun to watch. plus its pretty close to the WTCC specs, i like watching that too. Title: formula one Post by: Northern Red on Tuesday, August 8, 2006, 13:47:58 BTCC will be on the WTCC specs from next season allowing free movement of teams between series. It should be better.
Title: formula one Post by: Leggett on Tuesday, August 8, 2006, 21:47:19 marvelous. i likes that alot! hopefully see the least-taked about british world champion race on these shores at least once or twice then!
Title: formula one Post by: Northern Red on Tuesday, August 8, 2006, 22:15:29 Ummmm, who?
Title: formula one Post by: Gelbfüßler on Tuesday, August 8, 2006, 23:13:49 Legget, I know why they made the changes, hence why I put 'forced changes'. Just a shame that it's been complete shit and pathetic in comparison to the DTM since then. (obviously just my opinion of how it has gone downhill since 1998)
Northern Red - I think he means Andy 'renault spider' Prilaux Title: formula one Post by: Leggett on Wednesday, August 9, 2006, 09:01:58 Quote from: "Northern Red" Ummmm, who? my point exactly  mr priaulx, who won the last ETCC title, before it changed to WTCC, which he won too. :soapy tit wank: Title: formula one Post by: Gazza's Fat Mate on Thursday, August 10, 2006, 13:06:25 who cares! it is the most boring sport in the world. They even stopped them crashing as much whihc made it worse
Title: formula one Post by: Northern Red on Thursday, August 10, 2006, 13:37:59 I remember Andy Priaulx from BTCC (drove a Honda Civic?)
I thought the least talked about British Champion would be Dan Wheldon, who won the Indy Car IRL series. Justin "I'm crap in F1" Wilson is doing quite well in the Cart series as well. Anyone interested in the British Grand Prix 2007 - remember Monday 4th September 2006, it's when tickets go on sale. They seem to be sticking with the £99 3-Day General Admission Ticket for the 3rd year running :beers: |
