Blimey; that was all over our radio this morning but didn't think anything about it as didn't know who was involved.

The QPR lot seem to be going a bit OTT....they may know more than us, or they're just over reacting.

from a qpr fan on our rivals site

Mark Devlin has broken collarbone/shoulders, his son Stan has 2 broken legs and broken ankle, Bill Power has a punctured lung and they can't operate on the broken bones till that is sorted. Contary to earlier reports the pilot is still alive.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery to all.

Actually, reading the report again it says THREE high profile members of the club were injured.

So thats BP, MD and who else? Sandy Gray?

Edit: My bad, just seen it was the pilot plus four men.

Trying not to think cynically about it. But they are so important for STFC.

Terrible thing to happen, to anyone.

Supposed to be a positive start to new season and this happens. Hope they recover quickly and in the meantime, Dennis gets some good results for them.

Title: Oh dear...
Post by: janaage on Monday, August 7, 2006, 08:15:05
Unbelievable - what can I say that's not been said already.

I knew it was unwise for Mark D to spout out all that anti-hezbollah propaganda on the this is forum, they have friends in high places     Or maybe it was the Meercat Liberation League upset at MD yet again refusing to admit that he loves them as much as monkeys.

All the best to all involved, let's hope the lads can give them something to smile about tomorrow.

New pants all round??

Title: Oh dear...
Post by: Doore on Monday, August 7, 2006, 08:20:36
Here's hoping all involved make a full recovery.  Apparently early sources said the pilot was dead, but it appears he is still alive, albeit seriously injured.

Title: Oh dear...
Post by: janaage on Monday, August 7, 2006, 08:37:58
That pilot, as if he hasn't been through enough already, should be given a lifetime season ticket as a thank you for doing an amazing recovery job.

Big feature about it in The Sun, page 6.

Not much left of the plane looking at the picture!

the pictures are a bit misleading as they say the aiplane was intact after it crashed but obviously they had to cut the aircraft to pieces to get at the passengers

Going to be strange singing at the game tomorrow knowing that the people who've ensured we've still got a club could've lost their lives on saturday.

It'll be fantastic to see them all back at the club when they're fully recovered

Title: Oh dear...

Gotta sing something to Devlin & co then, let him know we're thinking of them all...

I'll hand this over to the Townend composers  :?

I like the way The Sun quoted Swindon forums ...

Am amazed they got away with their lives, to be honest. There's pics of Mike Sullivan in the Western Daily and the fella looks in a bad way - bruised and dazed.

Sounds like poor little Stan had had surgery on his legs - let's hope it's not too bad.

Hope they all make full recoveries. Brezavan wasn't the only hero that day - well done to the pilot for getting them down as best he could. Any plane crash with no fatalities is pretty amazing.

Title: Oh dear...

"They're leaving, on a jet plane, don't know when they'll be back again"

Or in the style of the England fans in Germany

"There was one private aeroplane in the air....."

or

Celery, oh ah, celery, oh ah,
Devlin's pretty flash,
then he had a plane crash
so we'll send him celery

All to be taken light heartedly.   No offence meant.
