Title: Can't get my old Championship manager games to work.
Post by: blinkpip on Sunday, July 30, 2006, 17:46:54
:x  Both my football manager games work perfectly. But I thought I might try and play on my old Champ man games, but they won't work. It installs but doesn't run.  :x
They used too a couple of years ago, But I thinking it could be due to service pak 2?

Anyone else had problems with this or knows how to sort it?

If you are getting an error like this - 16-bit MS-DOS Subsystem error while installing or running a DOS application

You need to do this...

I still run CM2 (97-98 ) in Windows XP.

I set some settings about pixel size or screen resolution to the lowest values and it worked fine (right click > Properties)

And it's great  8)

00/01 and 01/02 are the earlier windows cm3 jobbies aren't they? Try going to the folder it's installed to, right click on the main .exe and set it to run in one of the compatability modes. To be honest there popular enough games that if therers a problem funning them in winxp then they'll be a webpage with the problems somewhre.

On the 97/98 note, I still give that a quick go somethimes, It's all about Natipong Stritong-in from Thai Farmers Bank, Bjorn Heidenstrom from Leighton Orient and Froylan Ledezma from Ajax. If you're a bigger club you can pick up Freddy Leon, but that's less fun.
