was superb today, looked more like a footballer today instead of a sprinter

Too many people are still moaning about him which I think is unfair. I think he made some brilliant runs/touches today and worked so hard. Put in so much effort and definitely deserves credit for that.

Still needs a bit of work however definitely pleased on todays performance (even if there were a few comical moments).

One things for sure today.............Brown certainly didn't want to be here. Need to get rid.

i agree, but i think the fact shakes tried to rectify his mistakes makes him a better player

Still cant cross the thing...

Was impressed with the majority of Shakes game, final delivery seems to have improved....but still isnt consistent enough.

Brown didnt get into the game at all....reserve team for him me thinks

The one where Shakes got the ball ran for a bit then bottled it like he always does.

the bit in the corner flag near the end by the nationwide stand showed that he will go out with the right attitude this season.

he looked miles fitter too, all the other players made paul evans look a right fatty.

only thing i was not sure of was the lack of cover for the full backs which yes, shakes was to blame for and monkhouse.

must admit he does look like he follows the ball inwards alot leaving smith exposed alot

Monkhouse drifts inside way too much. He's alright going forwards but doesn't like getting back.

Think he sees himself as more of a third striker at times.

Wise has said that all the players know their jobs - perhaps that is Monkey's job?

you could be right there..wise did keep telling monkhouse to get round the back of peacock and if you notice brezovan hits it out left everytime..thought monkhouse played better today than last week

he already looks a much better than he did last season, better with the ball at his feet, fitter, runs with more purpose. the only problem is he still can't cross which is a fairly important attribute for a winger.

shakes looks much better than last season could be a real threat this year. monkhouse i think has looked pretty good going forward but he cuts inside too much, doesnt track back and when he does he doesnt close down the wide man.

He's still not a footballer. He lacks the sort of touches and anticipation that good players have naturally. Can't fault his effort though.

I'll take the positives - he looks to be getting better, so in 3 years time he might be a good player :D
