Would rather have Zola :(

Still, if it is true, I will be pleased.

why do we need Paul Ince?!

Not saying we do, just providing more ammunition for those on the side of the fence that are trying to convince themselves he's a possibility.

If he were to be on his way I wouldn't complain, he'd be useful.  Course I'd rather we signed Boland given that he's only 30...

I just dont see the point in signing Paul Ince when we have Dennis Wise, surely they are a very similiar type of player....

In think Wise will spend a fair chunk of the season in the dugout though.

I like the people who claim they don't want Ince because he's shit.  Has everyone forgot what league we are in and what level of quality we had/have in central midfield?

No other reason for the adver to run this report...

New Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has made Paul Ince's contract situation a priority upon his arrival at Molineux.

Veteran midfielder Ince was discussing a new playing contract with Wolves at the time of previous manager Glenn Hoddle's departure and must now decide where his future lies. Ince, 38, was keen to replace Hoddle, but McCarthy was chosen ahead of him.

McCarthy, who has been appointed on a 12-month rolling contract, said: "I have not had a chance to speak to Paul yet but it sounds like he may have had other offers.’’

There's no point. There's no bigger insult than living in Calne. Well, maybe Brizzle, Poxford or Red Herring.

Would this be a record for combined age of a midfield if they all started one match?  If we had Whalley in there too, our midfield could be well over 120 years old combined.

We should start singing "Old men, old men, old men, old men" at them.

Does anyone know where the Ince rumour actually started?  Do people just put two and two together and then post their postulations on here?  Not criticising, I'm just always amazed at how rumours gather momentum, and then far more often than that come to nothing.

i believe it started from a member of the club stating on radio that the big name is an ex England international but we are waiting on developments.
i.e. Ince fits the bill perfect. he was going for the Wolves job and hasn't got it. also ex england.

In a nutshell......Devlin said there was the possibility of a big name, depending on circumstances, Ince is known to be a mate of Wise, Ince is leaving Wolves....ergo  Ince is coming to us.

Looks pretty conclusive to me

I don't see much difference between Ince coming to Swindon and Lee going to Wycombe last season.

I can't see that it's that far fetched.

And to all those people who say, "Ooooh, he's to old, I'd rather have Pook!"

Fuck off.

"Each summer over past four years I have had many offers to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers, and it has been the same this summer," added Ince.

"Now that time has come.

"I will study all my options but will definitely look to play and continue to develop my long-term aims in coaching next season."

"Whilst I'm at it, does anyone know how the fricken magic roundabout in Swindon is supposed to work. I got beeped at serveral times going round yesterday" added Ince

In my opinion, Incey would be a great signing.  Again just like Wise last year, Ince played in the championship.  Both players didnt look out of place, and could do a job at this level easily - if not an even higher division.

He'd offer grit and determination to the midfield, and his ability and advice can be passed onto our other midfielders in the club.  Players like Pook wil get to learn a lot from being around Poyet, Wise and Incey
