Did anyone watch the game on ITV tonight?

I had a flick between the two and by christ the Beeb is different class.  The only plus would have to be Logan but it's almost as bad as channel 5 plus the adverts are just bloody annoying.

Lawrenson and Crooks two of the campest men in football but they don't half come out with some gems.  

Did anyone see Crooks at the Italian press conference his question was something about going to Man United but he had the other reporters chuckling away as soon as he opened his mouth.

While I'm at it what was going on in the first half tonight?  It was like Eastbourne pier, more attempts to have a perv up old ladies gussets than there was football.

I watched it with my mum of all people. I suggested we put the 5live commentery on, she said that listening to motty's was one of the reason she enjoyed it (she doesn't really understand football).

I go up and down on Motson depending on my mood. I enjoyed his random comments tonight; I was up for a good game as a neutral and it didn't really matter.

ITV have been pretty poor through out the tournament. Big Sam was one of my preffered choices for england manager but he's a shit pundit.

Shit, I missed that :shock:  I turned on my television set at about 7.25 thinking "Oooh, I'll just get a bit of the pre-match build up" only to find that we were half through the first half!

I didn't even know what time the Final kicked off (although 8.00 was a reasonable assumption to be fair) I suppose that sums up how much the WC has grabbed me.  I like the sound of these gussets you speak of though Dazzmeister. 8)

Nah, italy one but then got one dissalowed whilst they were celebrating, italy missed the retake and france went on to win, Bartez scored the winner.  8)

Not as bad as the American pundits who were waxing lyrical about Franz Beckenbauer while the cameras were concentrating on shots of Jacques Chirac !

Lawrenson and motty are full of shit. Radio 5 commentators should be bought in for bbc 1 during the big tournamounts.

At least Alan Green has an opinion on football, most of the tv commentators just tell you the usual shit, radio commentators call a bad game a bad game, call a dive a dive and call a bad decision a bad decision.

O'Neil is just as much of a cunt. In the 3rd place play-off game he couldn't be fucked to express an opinion on a game so he just kept saying that the game was pointless and irrelevant. He's gatting payed to talk that sort of bollocks, at least make it look like you're putting in some effort ffs.

He also starts making a point and 5 minutes later when he still hasn't shut up, you wonder what the fuck his point was.

BBC outclassed ITV i even put up with John Motson  :D

BBC is much beeter and has been for ages for punditry. Lineker is a legend. Generally stick 5live on though for the commentary

Hansen's ok, but he does sound like a broken record at times.

Hansen's good but I would like to see him on Sky - That is where the serious action is.  It's all a bit "It's Sunday afternoon, let's go round to grandad's house and watch the football and take our comfy slippers and have a nice cup of tea and some cake" on the BBC these days I think.

Andy Gray will never quite have the same credibility for me after the Screws piece at the weekend.

Yes, Andy Gray.  I happen to think he is quite well informed and is a good presenter.  I'm not saying I agree with everything he says and he gets on my nerves if he's doing a full 90 minute commentary but he is good at what he does.

What was that about?

I don't like Andy Gray to much, think he's got a bit big for his boots.  Alan Hansen on the other hand is superb.  The only man to predict the liklihood of goals just before the Germany England (1-5) match.

Martin O'Neill's another I like, in my opinion he should have got the England job, would have been very worried about the next Euro's with him in charge of you lot.

Champagne Charlie's a legend, used to love his verdicts on Vogt's Scotland team's performance, held no punches.  Also upset the Dundee Utd manager on a few occasions.

Mick McCarthy's the worst, along with Andy Townsend, Gareth Crooks and Steve Claridge.
