"RESEARCHERS are hoping that a woman who woke up after a stroke to find her Geordie accent sounding like Jamaican patois could shed some light on “foreign accent syndrome”.
Lynda Walker, 60, shows the symptoms of a rare affliction that leaves sufferers with a different accent. Although Ms Walker lived in Canada for a spell, she returned to the North East, where she grew up, and never lost her strong Geordie twang. But when she regained consciousness after a stroke in March last year, she spoke with a different accent. Most people believe that she sounds Jamaican"

Probably quite a traumatic thing to go through, but  :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:

I heard her on Radio 4 this morning - was well funny.  Deffo the strangest accent I have ever heard - funniest part was that her brother told her to stop pissing about when he first heard her!

The story about the woman with permanent sea sickness a while ago was quite funny as well  8) (Not if it happened to you of course but that's true of the other ones as well)

Yeah, she went on a cruise, got sea sick, the ship got back to dry land but the seasickness wouldn't go away and she still had it 6 months later. Your reaction is to laugh but it must be horrible!
