Title: Signings Post by: STFC Bart on Monday, July 3, 2006, 09:56:28 I think if we are serious about getting out of this division at the first attempt then we need to splash out on a striker proven at this level (Lambert or Walker)
I understood nopw that we could compete with getting the best, we need to show our ambition Title: Signings Post by: Bennett on Monday, July 3, 2006, 09:59:07 i agree but think we might be playing it a bit coy for the first bit of the season then assess from there
Title: Signings Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Monday, July 3, 2006, 10:04:27 I think Dennis thinks he already has a decent pair of strikers in Peacock and Roberts. I would tend to agree, I think they are potentially the best strike force in our division by a mile.
Title: Signings Post by: Bennett on Monday, July 3, 2006, 10:08:36 oh i agree but i think we're missing one striker. i'm not sure relying on juka and caton is a smart move. we might end up with a player like mcphee or yeates...who with the best will in the world, couldn't score
Title: Signings Post by: STFC Bart on Monday, July 3, 2006, 10:29:48 We need a proven striker at L2 level.
Title: Signings Post by: yeo on Monday, July 3, 2006, 10:47:02 Roberts will get us 20.
It must be true Wise had a bet with him. Title: Signings Post by: fatbury on Monday, July 3, 2006, 10:59:25 Im worried big time if Wise really thinks Roberts and Peacock can get us goals .. I cant see more than 10 between the 2 of them
Plus we now need another centre back with OHanlon going and 2 goalies and 2 central midfielders ... come on Dennis .. sort it out! Bahahahaha... you're such a clown. :D Title: Signings Post by: RobertT on Monday, July 3, 2006, 11:06:58 Yes, Dennis, you've been really quiet on the signing's front for the past week now, and how daft of you not to have recruited O'Hanlon's replacement when that Psychic told you he actually meant he was leaving when he said he was happy to sign.

http://www.swindontownfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/Wise/0,,10341~854689,00.html "We will be fine as far as keepers go" "I am hoping to bring in one or two more players to the squad" I think that says it all really. Wise has definitely got it sorted. Title: Signings Post by: sonic youth on Monday, July 3, 2006, 11:13:36 but that was last week, perhaps fatbury is right and he's forgotten all about it?

Title: Signings Post by: Bennett on Monday, July 3, 2006, 11:31:48 i was really tempted to relpy to fatburys post, obviously stacking it massively full of sarcasm and contempt.
in the end i've decided you're a fucking waste of skin and breath mr fatbury and as such any such ranting would be a waste on my part. enjoy your demise Title: Signings Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Monday, July 3, 2006, 11:32:55 the problem with Roberts is has he fully recovered from his problems? i think he has but im not sure he will ever be as good as he first was when he joined us

He'll battle against the drink for the reast of his life most likely, but he's been dry since January. In terms of fitness, he should be up to the same level as everyone else now, which is probably well ahead of his level of fitness this time last year. Provided he has the right support and is determined himself to turn things around, then he should be fit to play. COME ON CHRISTIAN, YOU CAN DO IT Title: Signings Post by: sonic youth on Monday, July 3, 2006, 11:41:35 i'm torn over roberts.
is it true that the club told him when he came back from rehab that he'd be given a fresh start this season, which is why he wasn't involved much in the latter part of last season? if so, then that's fair enough and i'm willing to give him another chance and i feel quite positive about him coming good. he's not going to be a 20 goals a season striker, never has been, never will be, but he will cause problems and create chances for others when he's fit and on form. if he's off the booze then he'll come good, i'm sure of it.
