Three of our 6? goals came from Beckham though! He assited in two and scored one for himself! I think he's a great player. He links up well with Gary Neville and tracks back to help out the defence, which players like Lennon, Joe Cole etc, do not. But thats nothing against Lennon or Joe Cole as they are great players and i think if we were to use the 5 in midfield again, i would go with Beckham, Gerrard and Hargreaves/Carrick in the middle with Lennon/Wright Phillips and Joe Cole - right and left wing 8) All credit to Beckham. I’m not fond of players retiring early from International football. Certainly there’s some dignity at going out on top but if you’re intending to play club football for a few more seasons then it should be an honour to represent your country whatever the role or extent of involvement may be.
