Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: jamie75 on Sunday, February 8, 2009, 01:16:33 how come my website isn't listed?
It's the number one search result on Google for STFC forums. www.swindontownforum.com Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, February 8, 2009, 01:25:25 how come my website isn't listed? It's the number one search result on Google for STFC foums. www.swindontownforum.com The trust site wins for "stfc fourms". You did get number one for Swindon forums though. Also it's not really a forum is it? It just had links to other forums. Unless I'm being blind. Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: jamie75 on Sunday, February 8, 2009, 01:44:45 The trust site wins for "stfc fourms". You did get number one for Swindon forums though. Also it's not really a forum is it? It just had links to other forums. Unless I'm being blind. You're technically correct however enter the words "swindon forum" or "swindon town forum" on Google and it's number 1. I changed the website into more of a STFC fans portal in the last year or so, the idea being to give fans easy access to all the available forums and also all the basic stats surrounding the team. Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: jayohaitchenn on Sunday, February 8, 2009, 11:43:06 how come my website isn't listed? It's the number one search result on Google for STFC forums. www.swindontownforum.com Because it's crap mate. Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: jamie75 on Monday, February 9, 2009, 22:56:50 Because it's crap mate. ok, how can I improve it? Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: spacey on Monday, February 9, 2009, 23:06:58 You should start a regular cartoon feature called The Adventures of Monkeyman and Trumps. Monkeyman would be half Danny Wilson, half chimp. Trumps would be his sidekick. A bit like the bloke from Fantasy island, but bigger and an elephant.
Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: axs on Monday, February 9, 2009, 23:11:35 Porn.

A bit like the bloke from Fantasy island, but bigger and an elephant. sounds positive but I'm worried about copyright issues, do you own the rights to "The Adventures of Monkeyman and Trumps"? Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: axs on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, 00:02:52 In that case just give your site a purpose.
Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: jamie75 on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, 00:12:22 In that case just give your site a purpose. it has one, it's simply an STFC portal. Pure and simple. Supplies basic information about the team (League One Table, Attendance, Squad, Ground info, away Ground info, links etc. )and lists the available foums as well as up to date news. what are you so angry about? Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: axs on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, 00:15:15 I don't think I was being angry, just don't really see the what the site is for, not having a pop, just my opinion.
Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: Samdy Gray on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, 08:07:02 And it looks like an 8 year old designed it.
Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: spacey on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, 08:08:56 sounds positive but I'm worried about copyright issues, do you own the rights to "The Adventures of Monkeyman and Trumps"? Monkeyman and Trumps is the creation of the great D.Azzza. To view more of his work and that of some other fine artists, take a stroll around The Tony Hart Memorial Gallery. http://dawnofthejed.com/http:/dawnofthejed.com/category/gallery/ Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: jayohaitchenn on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, 09:19:18 Why would a topic that has roughly 10000 regular fans WORLDWIDE!! need a portal? Fuck off and stop spamming this forum, your "website" is the work of a bored child.
Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: Sussex on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, 09:29:06 spacey pointed me in the direction of dawnofthejed.com and my spirits were lifted. I decided against going to Beachy Head.
Oh, your website is cack. Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: jamie75 on Thursday, February 12, 2009, 22:56:52 thanks for the heads-up lads.

Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: spacey on Thursday, February 12, 2009, 23:23:53 I like to think that my feedback was the most constructive. If you don't want to go with Monkeyman and Trumps, you could use Zombie Sheepbummers.

Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: westcountry on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, 20:39:08 New site, published Monday, has a Forum...
needs to be better i know but more people who join the Forum, the better because it hasnt really got going yet www.swindonawaydays.co.uk Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: reeves4england on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, 20:48:54 New site, published Monday, has a Forum... It could be the start of something good, but on the other hand you do seem to be competing with the official site, footballgroundguide.co.uk and forums like this all at once.needs to be better i know but more people who join the Forum, the better because it hasnt really got going yet www.swindonawaydays.co.uk Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: westcountry on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, 20:51:37 theres not a chane that i can challenge the like of fotballgroundguie as its offiialy the best ground guide on the web
This will always be my first choice swindon forum, but i would like to see my one being used aswel a fair bit. I just thought i would try something new, hopefully it is the start of something new Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: axs on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, 21:53:11 I think I'm in your palace away 06/07 photo. how exciting.
Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: flammableBen on Thursday, July 30, 2009, 00:57:41 theres not a chane that i can challenge the like of fotballgroundguie as its offiialy the best ground guide on the web This will always be my first choice swindon forum, but i would like to see my one being used aswel a fair bit. I just thought i would try something new, hopefully it is the start of something new I think you're going to have to do something special to drag people in. It'd be a big effort to compete with the bigger sites in terms of news, grounds, fans etc. And you've got a similar problem with a forum, most the other forums seem to be dropping off like swine flu ridden insects. If you can come up with an individual fan community based sort of thing then you've got every chance. Maybe go for some sort of online fanzine sort of attitude? Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: iffy on Thursday, October 1, 2009, 17:37:15 Ace. I've only just noticed swindontownforum.com
It's brilliant. I've been hunting high and low on the internet for a site that tells us we're 16th in the league, sponsored by Kingswood and won the League Cup in 1969. It should win awards. As for the awaydays site, it's a good idea but fBen's right. You should run the whole thing off the twitter account and put the twitter page on your homepage. Anyone who posts on twitter with the tag #stfcawaydays could be included and then people at an away game could load their photos and goal news and stuff. Just my 10p. Title: Re: Forum Links Post by: jamie75 on Friday, September 17, 2010, 22:02:06 Ace. I've only just noticed 'iffy'
