Title: Fitness is the key Post by: Sade on Saturday, June 24, 2006, 10:38:30 Their should'nt be any question about it really, ALL footballers should be ready and fit before they step onto that pitch. Its a sport, fitness is vital. Its their job. Just shows how football has slipped a bit.

And if he does manage it I for one will be more than happy. He could piss all over this league if he recovered his past form. Just a matter of whether or not Wise and Poyet can help him acvhieve itTitle: Fitness is the key Post by: pauld on Saturday, June 24, 2006, 20:18:46 One of the things I'm certainly hoping for from Wise/Poyet is no more soft peddling on players who aren't up to it. I agree Roberts could tear most teams in L2 a new orifice if he's up for it, but if he's not he should be shown the door. I'm hoping Wise and Poyet will be able to convince him those are the choices - up to him then whether he wants to achieve his potential as a pro footballer or do the Z-list lifestyle thing

Title: Fitness is the key Post by: Tails on Sunday, June 25, 2006, 09:05:52 We'll get shitloads of injuries with that much training.

It's probably split into 2 sessions rather than having one massive session. am legwork, with or without ball pm upper body, weights, gym Title: Fitness is the key Post by: DMR on Sunday, June 25, 2006, 18:12:41 It's irrelevant what the new bosses say, at the end of the day I can't see our current crop putting in the necessary effort for the regime to make a difference.

Has to be a possibility....you don't get as bad as we were last season if you have professional pride...something lacking in a number of our players. May take Wise a while to weed out the wasters, although its to be hoped some of the younger players may benefit from a new regime. Maybe a new boss who is willing to 'throw teacups' is the kick up the arse some of them need. iirc, you yourself said Iffy was too much of a mate with them.
