already  3-0 against S&M.
Maxi Rodriguez x2
Esteban Cambiasso.

They are looking good for this world cup.

or are S&M useless?  Didn't they fail to get a single shot against Holland?

Hopefully the Argies will use up all their good form in the group stages.

Holland v Argentina will be interesting. Two of the best teams in it.

Serbia & Montenegro finished top of their group - ahead of Spain - to qualify for the World Cup finals and only conceded one goal in the process.

They're no mugs! That second argie goal looked class, more passes than a retard on mastermind!

There are always teams that do that though.  Not saying they didn't do well in qualifying but it's how they turn up to the tournament that counts and so far they've not been up to much....it seems.  Columbia used to have that mantel, qualifying well, beating Brazil and Argentina in the process then producing diddly squat in the finals.

I think it's hard to judge until we get into crunch games, where the whole future of the teams campaign rests on that one game.  That's when the money begins to be earned.

They've looked a different class in this game. Awesome passing and moving. S&M are simply chasing shadows all over the pitch.

The second goal really was a thing of beauty. 24 passes through 9 players, little one-twos and a backheel to set-up the finish. Great team goal.

They're looking like the team to beat at the moment.

And Leo Messi has come on.

5-0 now.

Am I right in thinking we might have to play them in the 1/4 finals if we somehow fluke our way through the next round?

Lineker just explained it. If we and Argentina both finish top of our groups then we avoid each other for the time being.

I suggest we go all out to beat Sweden :)

Everyone raves about him on FM2006, so I'm interested to see him play IRL. Same as Mascherano.

both tevez and mascherano play in brazil for corinthians and doing pretty well. corinthians want €120 million (£80 million) in order to exercise a release clause.
Blatant penalty on crespo.

hate to say it but a great performance from the argies. 6th goal was good too. i really hope we don't have to play them they would batter us on current form

Yep, I think if we both win our groups we can only play the Argies in the final.

As winners we get Ecuador or Germany, then Portugal or Mexico or Holland it seems.  Then we get a semi against Brazil if they win their group and progress.

Obviously this changes if Holland win the group, then we could play Argentina in a QF -  or if the Argies win their group and we are runners up.

All if's buts and maybes though.

Okay so Argentina did play well, probably better than any team has so far.
BUT They were playing a team who looked clueless and gave away the ball and silly goals.

England have spent 180 minutes so far playing against teams with 8 men in defence, so aren't likely to have looked good. Brazil and France were worse than England from the performances so far.

I think the Argies have looked the best but when England start playing decent teams they will be able to pick gaps better with the opposition actually trying to attack. For our sake I hope France and Brazil continue as they left off, and I don't really see Holland as too much of a threat.
