Title: Gigs....
Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, June 14, 2006, 19:06:21
Bloody hell I'm on a roll for me this year.

Lou Reed the other week, Snow Patrol coming up (free tickets), then V followed by five days back home and then with any luck Burning Man in Vegas.

Although I'm fucking dreading a hangover in the desert and all the middle aged nudity.

Anyone got anything lined up over the summer?

Had to sell my T in the Park Ticket as I am moving to Europe! Pretty gutted as it would have been quality!

Have been to one gig so far this year and that was to see Funeral For A Friend, in Bristol, but i havent planned to go see anyone else as of yet. Well except a few 'underground' bands i guess i.e. at the furnace.
Saying that, im going to a gig in Bath in July, but thats just like a mixture of bands playing.
Chili Peppers have a few gigs coming up, so may go see them sometime.

It is,i was sitting there all done up like the massive Manics fan i was,all eyeliner and leopard print clothes and there are people walking past going swimming :)
I tell a lie though,my first gig was Oasis at Knebworth, although i don't think of that as a gig,it was more of a festival really.

Underground bands = Unknown bands

Well they would be unknown to a lot of you on here, but known to people that go to places such as the Furnace or that like the sort of music these particular bands play

Only gigs I have coming up are ones I'm playing. Like on Saturday at The George in Bradford-on-Avon[/plug]

i was into metal when i was still at school, still like their stuff - the first two ep's are awesome and troublegum is a great album. they're still going, still touring, still releasing albums. not heard the last two albums mind.

I think I've mentioned before my second cousin is in the band Therapy?

This year I've seen

Bloc Party
DJ Yoda
Roni Size
Andy C
High Contrast about 10 times
Fingathing
Pendulum 2 or 3 times
Scratch Perverts

Probably some more I can't remember. Haven't got any planned at the moment.

Wish I'd seen them years ago; back when they first started when Richey Edwards was still around.

JDB is going to tour later this year apparantly on the back of his solo album. I'm going to go along and see that; will you bother or are you not so interested about the solo stuff?

I think the JDB solo stuff will be good,he's got a great voice and is a guitar hero :) I'm not going to see him tour,i will be buying the album, out in July i think?

Album is out 24th July. I've heard a few of his songs from a concert he did in May; sounds pretty good listening to that I thought.
