Title: BBC World Cup broadcast team...
Post by: BrightonRed on Wednesday, June 14, 2006, 12:05:27
John Motson
Mick McCarthy
Adrian Chiles
Garth Crooks

What an absolute bunch of fucking muppets. Mick McCarthy makes me want to harm myself.
The only thing the BBC did right was sack LeSaux.

Lawrenson has avoided my wrath because he's a good pundit.. but he's certainly no co-commentator and paired-up with Motson they manage to ruin every one of the big games on the BBC.

I've bitched about jonathan pearce before but at least he injects some enthusiasm into his games.

The BBC needs some new blood in commentry and fucking quickly in my opinion.. Thank God Gary and Alan provide some quality in the breaks.

Studio: Shearer is dull as dishwater. Hansen and Liniker are great. While Wright is more Joe Cole than Mensa in the brain dept he is certainly entertaining.

Agree about the match commentry though. Even Motty's endless facts are greating. Thankfully those of us with digital boxes can push the red button, go interactive and chose the 5-live commentry (or no commentry) instead!

5 live commetary is ace.

I've recently been forced to stop watching the football and listening instead purely because of the blimmin' commentators.

I think Chiles is good - at least he is a proper fan

My old man refused to turn Motson off last night, meaning my enjoyment of the game was severely hampered...

Motty is annoying but David Pleat on itv1 is worse than any of that lot.

I think someone else mentioned this, but I agree...Motty makes retarted comments then has a little chuckle to himself for no reason, and it annoys the fuck out of me...

"Pass from Ronaldhino, hehehe", "Shot by Kaka, hohohhoh"

What's fucking funny? It's football Motty, just do your job

anyone else think motson's going a bit mad?

he said about croatia losing to england in euro 2004 then went on to say that croatia hadn't lost a competitive game for four years a little later. senile much?

Motson and Crooks are an institution.  Motson is not far off being officially declared senile while I've never herd anyone turn a simple question into such a magnificent farcical Cantona-esque analogy.

Can't stand that twat thick Mick the Mick Mcarthy though, should be kicked so hard into touch he can taste leather.

Lawrenson is the gayest man on the planet.  I can't take the man seriously in any shape way or form and forever when I think Lawrenson I'll think the McGowan version.

Hanson is decent enough argumentative and gets his point across but not over the top like a few of the Sky Sports chaps.

When I hear Pearce I hear Robot Wars.  It's all the same only he switches Ronaldo for what was that big beast's name, Sir Killalot?  Not much of a pundit really and doesn't offer anything above the action on the ball with a few standard quips thrown in.

I hate the way Pearce ends all his stuff with "if i remember correctly" when we all know it's written down in front of him...

The funniest thing was during a game yesterday McCarthy came out with "Oh if my defenders defended like that i would crucify them!"

Mmmmmm thats strange, im pretty sure you was the manager of Sunderland last season.

It should be compulsary for both channels to have Ian Wright commentating on every game.
