Title: NTL Problems Post by: Bedford Red on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, 19:44:01 Anyone else on NTL and having problems today?
I got a message saying there's a general problem browsing web-sites. This site is ok; but sites like e-bay etc are a nightmare at the moment. Title: NTL Problems Post by: yeo on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, 19:46:52 It seems to be an on going thing that they need to sort out,its happening to often.Ring thier custonmer services and ask for a refund if you have a spare 10 hours.
Title: NTL Problems Post by: Bedford Red on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, 19:48:31 I dread to think how much that would cost; I bet it isn't free.
My year contract is up with them at the end of the month so I'm going to switch to someone else then. Look around on the internet for a fix on the problem (I found one for Yeovil a while ago but he ignored me I think) :o Title: NTL Problems Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, 19:51:23 A bit of thread digging later:

Title: NTL Problems Post by: Bedford Red on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, 20:03:11 NTL Broadband internet customers across the whole country may currently be experiencing problems in browsing to web sites. NTL is aware of this issue and working to identify and resolve the cause as quickly as possible. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Update 21:00 - Issues appear to have been caused by a failure due to overload of NTL's DNS servers. These servers are now returning to normal levels and investigation of the cause of the overload is under way. Browsing is slowly returning to normal, however it is unlikely that services will be fault free until morning of 7/6/06 From the NTL Page in case you were interested Yeovil. Title: NTL Problems Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, 20:06:38 They've been pretty good, only problems I had were getting it to work in the first place, but that was BT's fault with the line (and Plusnet sorted it all out for me).
24 hour customer service too, and you can get a quick response for support online or on the phone. I think for £21 you get the best package with landline rental thrown into the deal now. Title: NTL Problems Post by: Whits on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, 21:46:58 plusnet is ace

Title: NTL Problems Post by: McLovin on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, 07:54:45 Me and my broadband aren't getting on at the moment... The BT software keeps figting with my Microsoft wireless stuff so connection keeps dropping. Unfortunately, there seems to be no way of uninstalling the Wireless COnnection Manager.
Also, its slow. Seeing as i was supposedly upgraded to 8Mb last week, my speed test shows a speed of 0.950 mbit/s Title: NTL Problems Post by: STFC_Manc on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, 09:07:37 i wouldnt worry bout getting nearly 1 meg! im meant to be on 8 meg and get 230k/b max :( not sure wot speed ur meant to get!
Title: NTL Problems Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, 11:20:21 Sometimes the phoneline can't handle anymore, or it takes a while for them to sort out the speed increase making it temperamental.
DB - Wireless software does my head in, and I've had similar problems to you, but letting the cards software to run, but using windows to actually configure the software sorted mine out. Title: NTL Problems Post by: McLovin on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, 11:45:26 Everytime i start my computer, it has disabled the option "Allow Windows to configure Wireless blah blah blah"
Where we live, Si, the lines are capable of 6 of the full 8meg according to the testing we got done. Title: NTL Problems Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, 11:47:24 You could try re-installing the software. The Netgear one I have asks me whether to disable windows config when I install. I had to re-install to tell it I wanted to use windows config.
Title: NTL Problems Post by: McLovin on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, 11:54:33 Hmmmm.... i may just do that. Cheers.
