Bristol City boss Gary Johnson says he is yet to receive any official bids for the club's transfer-listed players.
Keeper Steve Phillips, Wales defender Dave Partridge and midfielder Grant Smith were all told at the end of last season they were allowed to leave.

Johnson told BBC Radio Bristol: "We've received nothing officially.

"I've phone conversations with agents but until another manager speaks to me to ask the situation then they won't become official in my mind."

He's a handy 'keeper at any level below Championship, at least for another year or two.  I can't believe they preferred that god awful Brazilian.

Hmm...never really watched much of Phillips, but he has been talked about as one of the better keepers in League One.

My gut reaction when he was dropped back in November for the game against us on sky was 'hmm should make it easier to score, now they've got their 2nd choice keeper in goal'

If Andy King was manager then I'd put money on Phillips joining Swindon. I think he'll go to Yeovil.

I prefer the other names being mentioned.

He's a very good keeper, plenty of City reckon he should never have been replaced and he'd have a point to prove to Gary Johnson. He'd be a top signing for L2, better than Evans.

Not a bad keeper had a good season in their play off year, but I think I'm in the "no more ex-city" brigade (if that brigade has been formed yet).

I think he is overrated. I have seen him make some ridiculous mistakes before now and was thankful we have Evans.

Maybe in League 2 he would be ok but nothing great,

The problem is the gap between league one and two standard wise isn't very great. If he wouldn't be good enough for us in league one then I doubt he would in league 2.

LEE Peacock has revealed friend and former teammate Steve Phillips is keen on a move to the County Ground and has urged Town’s new management team to snap him up.

Bristol City goalkeeper Steve Phillips has been placed on the transfer list at Ashton Gate after falling out of favour with Gary Johnson and Town striker Peacock is confident he could be a solution to their number one problems.

Peacock revealed he bumped into Phillips yesterday while on holiday in Majorca, where the City stopper told him he had asked his agent to try and sort out a move to the County Ground for him.

Rhys Evans’ move to Blackpool has left Town boss Dennis Wise without a keeper and Peacock believes Phillips would be the ‘ideal man’ to help earn an immediate return to League One.

He said: “Steve is staying at the same hotel as me and we have all been down to the beach together. He told me how his agent is going to be contacting Swindon to see whether they would be interested in taking him.

“He sounded as though he would love the move to happen and Swindon could do a lot worse than bringing him in as a replacement for Rhys.

“During my time at Bristol City, Steve hardly put a foot wrong. He was, in my opinion, one of the best keepers at that level and still is. I would love him to come and join me here.”

Phillips joined City in November 1996 from local non-league side Paulton Rovers and made his first team debut in December 1998.

A good shot stopper, Phillips had cemented his position as Ashton Gate as first choice until the arrival of Johnson just before Christmas.

Since then, Phillips has been left in the cold and placed on the transfer list, with City yet to receive any bids for him.

Peacock said: “He made the League One team of the year only a couple of seasons back. I don’t know who else Dennis Wise is lining up but for me there are not many better than Phillips.”

Peacock endured a frustrating end to last season through injury and admits a combination of Wise and Gus Poyet’s arrival and the World Cup has got him longing for next campaign.

He said: “I can’t wait. Hopefully Dennis Wise will bring in some good new signings and we will be ready for a good season.”

He'd be a great signing and a logical one, I'd love it.

I'll expect some sort of signing on fee for suggesting we sign him.

he would be a very good signing. not only is he a decent keeper for our level, he also lives relatively local so we wouldn't have to worry about him settling down in a new area, and he knows most of our team already anyway...

He's easily good enough for league two and league one. If there's a chance i'd sign him.

We could do a lot worse......

And he actually wants to come here which means he'll want to do well for the club and not just be there for the wages like alot of the players we have now do.

More fuel to this rumour is that Bristol City are signing Weale from Yeovil and now they have him and that dodgy Brazilian they must surely know Philips' fate.

Obviously the league has got closer over the last few years.

but they have had crap management under Tinnion, if Johnson had come in earlier they would have reached the play-offs last season

that City team that finished 3rd would have walked last seasons league with ease....even our play off side would have run away with it.
