Title: Outlook express query? Post by: Bedford Red on Sunday, June 4, 2006, 19:52:20 For about a week now I cannot put any of my e-mails into my deleted items folder and get rid of them etc.
Not a big problem at the moment; but there will come a time when I probably get a message saying I cannot get any more messages as it's full. I guess I could un-install it and install it again and that may cure the problem; but I don't want to do that unless I have to. Message I get says " FOLDER COULD NOT BE DISPLAYED. Outlook Express could not display this folder. Possible Causes are Low Disk Space and Low Memory" I know the last two points are not the problem. i've tried trouble shooting it through Microsoft with no solutions. So if anyone has any ideas (I'm guessing Si Pi might); then please put them here for me to try. Thanks. Title: Outlook express query? Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, June 4, 2006, 23:04:14 Have you tried checking the 'empty the deleted item folder on exiting'? that might work around a bug.
Unfortunately I use Outlook so am not too familiar with Outlook Express Title: Outlook express query? Whenever I try to open the folder it just says on the page that "Folder could not be displayed; Outlook Express could not open this folder. Possible causes are low disk space; low memory." Right clicking only offers open ; find and properties. I tried the thing Si Pi suggested above; and I get a message saying that the folder cannot be emptied etc. Thing is I don't think there is anything in there anyway as I empty it most days. I'm putting all my e-mails I've finished with into my draft folder at the moment to avoid clogging my in-box up; got 44 in there now. Whatever I try; trying to move items between folders etc nothing happens when I try to move to deleted folder. Title: Outlook express query? Post by: Dazzza on Monday, June 5, 2006, 17:42:13 Try closing Outlook express and run a search for the file 'deleted items.dbx' on your hard drive and delete the bugger.
Open Outlook again and give it another go. Title: Outlook express query? Same happened to me a while back on my InBox. Title: Outlook express query? Post by: Bedford Red on Monday, June 5, 2006, 21:59:41 I think it might have been.
I did a google on it all which was much more useful than the microsoft/windows site and it seemed to say the same on there. |
