I'd be tempted to put some money on Podolski as well
Title: World Cup Top Goal scorer Post by: yeo on Sunday, June 4, 2006, 02:44:35 wow you replied to that wile I was still putting it up :D
Title: World Cup Top Goal scorer Post by: Stef Troll on Sunday, June 4, 2006, 09:06:55 Adriano at 11/1 looks very tasty and im gonna put £10 each way :D However i dunno if Brazil will play Kaka, Ronaldo, Adriano and Ronaldinho in the same team at the same time.
For longer odds, Podolski, Lukas 33/1, Raul 50/1 and Torres, Fernando 28/1 arent badly priced Title: World Cup Top Goal scorer Post by: swindonbob on Sunday, June 4, 2006, 09:12:23 Crouch is 50/1 on b365.
Title: World Cup Top Goal scorer Post by: DiV on Sunday, June 4, 2006, 09:12:41 Torres looks a good price because Spain have a pretty easy group.
Still Henry at 14/1 is very good odds Title: World Cup Top Goal scorer Post by: SwindonTownFC on Sunday, June 4, 2006, 10:40:29 David Villa at 33/1
Title: World Cup Top Goal scorer Post by: TheKingCY on Sunday, June 4, 2006, 10:52:09 Podolski or Ronaldinho both good bets...

Title: World Cup Top Goal scorer Post by: Stef Troll on Sunday, June 4, 2006, 13:08:18 How far do you think the team needs to progress in order for one of their players to have a realistic chance of winning the golden boot ? Or better still, how many goals are needed to win the golden boot ?
For example, England have a resonably decent chance of getting to the quater finals or beyond. Its feasable that someone like Crouch or Owen could score at least 3 goals against Trinidad, and could pick up a few goals in the remainder of the games Holland on the other also have the cabaility of getting to the latter stages of the cup, but its more unlikely for one of their strikers to score shit loads of goals against Argentina, Ivory Coast and Serbia. Portugal are playing Angola and Iran, so there should be a resonable chance that Pauletta at 28/1 will bag a few goals Alternatively you could go for a team who are likely to get to the finals (eg Brazil) and hope that the larger number of games they play will increase their chances of scoring more goals. Spain have got to play Saudia Arabia, big chance of scoring goals there Title: World Cup Top Goal scorer Post by: Spud on Sunday, June 4, 2006, 16:40:39 Im gonna stcik £10 on RoboCrouch.
Title: World Cup Top Goal scorer Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Sunday, June 4, 2006, 18:51:53 6, 7 or 8 goals is normally golden boot sort of area.

Spain have got to play Saudia Arabia, big chance of scoring goals there Pauletta is a good shout, likewise Shevchenko or one of the Spanish strikers (Raul/Torres/Villa). Mexico/Portugal/Spain/Ukraine should piss their groups & score loads. Borgetti or Guillermo Franco of Mexico might be a long shot? 6 goals has been enough over the last few tournaments (apart from ronaldo in 2002), Salenko got 5 in one game in 1994, someone like Shevchenko could repeat that against Saudi Arabia? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Cup_Golden_Boot Title: World Cup Top Goal scorer Post by: Bob's Orange on Monday, June 5, 2006, 18:25:34 I fancy Pauleta to get a few in the group stages and then it depends on how Portugal do from there. Tempted to stick a few quid on, and possibly Henry who should put a few in the group stages.
Crouchy may be worth a punt also, his confidence must be sky high and if he can nick a goal or 2 against Paraguay, I fancy him to net a bagful against T and T. Title: World Cup Top Goal scorer Post by: Dazzza on Monday, June 5, 2006, 18:54:36 Can you have an each way on goalscorer?
Wouldn't mind seeing a few quid on Lampard finishing near the top. Title: World Cup Top Goal scorer Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Monday, June 5, 2006, 18:56:10 Peter Crouch! :D

Title: World Cup Top Goal scorer Post by: land_of_bo on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, 15:53:58 Do you know what, I fancy Switzerland as a bit of a dark horse, should do south Korea and Toga with ease, and fancy them for at least a draw against the frogs, and on that basis I they win their group and then get Spain or Ukraine in the next round...fancy Marco Strellar to net a few goals.
