OK, from what I can tell it appears to be a picture of Sparks, the two mental antipodean brothers....this town ain't big enough etc etc......

But is it just me or do they appear to be standing outside the Beehive on Prospect Hill behind the college?

That's what I thought.

Drunken Sunday lunch times, Noel Reilly, a dodgy old blues band perforating my ear drums, local 'colourful' characters, £1 for a pint of 'Wood'....

Marvellous 8)

it's a Greene King pube now - and Marcer (the landlord) prides himself on the expensive ales - never knowingly oversold - "if you find it more expensive elsewhere we'll match it"
£3.20 for a pint of Bud

On the point of Avatars, I saw one the other day that had Gollum "Morphing" into David Moyes. It was brilliant. Does anybody know who's it was or where I could find it?

Haven't been in the beehive for a while. probably not since around christmas. Can be the start of many a good mini pub crawl, up to the castle then the prince of wales, then hit old town proper.

Ok so it's a different pair of psychedelic loons (sorry Reg but its a very small picture on my laptop screen and one pair featuring a little short haired blok with a 'tache, and a bigger bloke with long hair and a bushy 'tache looks much like another).

But I'm still a little confused as to why Captain Beefheart and Frank Zappa are stood outside what used to be my local. I drnak in their for the best part of 15 years and I don't remeber ever seeing either of them.

Although I there was a few weeks when Noel got really pissed off with someone who kept 'phoning up on a Sunday lunchtime asking to speak to Moonunit?

Strange.
