Title: Mooney Interview Post by: oxford_fan on Monday, January 31, 2005, 16:12:19 in our matday prog. on saturday. thought these 2 snippets might interest/annoy you:
If Swindon Town offered to double your wages tomorrow, would you go back? "No. There was a lot written about the move and I don't want to talk about it too much but the decision was made on principle rather than for financial reasons. In fact, on the morning that I signed for Oxford Swindon actually offered me more money to sign for them, but my decision had been made and after some of the things that had gone on I had no doubts this was the right move." What's the favourite song you've heard sung about you? "I've been really lucky everywhere I've been that the fans have been very good with me. They have always been very kind although I'm sure there's a terrible one waiting for me when I go back to Swindon." yeh... some treats.... come back mooney! :soapy tit wank: Title: Mooney Interview Post by: oxford_fan on Monday, January 31, 2005, 16:23:38 nobody was blasting them in under rix, but he had a stormer on saturday and scored a beauty against yeovil the other week from about 30 yards into the top corner. he's on 8 and i'd expect that to be near 20 by the end of the season on our current form.
Title: Mooney Interview Post by: janaage on Monday, January 31, 2005, 16:28:56 Like a dwarf awaking from a coma the Oxford are begininning to find their voices after3 semi decent results. Mooney's passed it at this level, if you came up he'd struggle to score 5 next season. There's a lot of footie to be played before then.
Also even the most stupid of footballer wouldn't have answered the above question yes would he? Would you go back to our rivals if they offered you more money, yes err I mean no. What a shit question. Were these children asking him these questions? Title: Re: Mooney Interview Post by: Rossi on Monday, January 31, 2005, 16:29:24 Quote from: "oxford_fan" although I'm sure there's a terrible one waiting for me when I go back to Swindon." Title: Mooney Interview Post by: janaage on Monday, January 31, 2005, 16:34:34 I couldn't give a shit about the has been, he did us a favour by leaving. Much rather have Roberts.
Cheers for a good season Tommy, end of. Title: Mooney Interview Post by: Johno on Monday, January 31, 2005, 16:39:15 was brill when here, but not going mad with oxford so im happy.

Title: Mooney Interview Post by: Johno on Monday, January 31, 2005, 16:59:27 heard it was a dodgy penalty on saturday against Rovers? my mate was there (supports rovers of course!)
Title: Mooney Interview Post by: sonicyouth on Monday, January 31, 2005, 17:11:50 I honestly think we don't miss Mooney at all, don't think he'd have got into double figures for us this season. We do miss his leadership on the pitch though, sort of.
By the way, that sounds as if he's trying to make himself out to be hard done by. He stated the reason he left as being because we verbally offered him one deal then gave him a much lower one. Title: Mooney Interview Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, January 31, 2005, 17:14:52 and one offer extinguishes another...
Title: Mooney Interview Post by: yeo on Monday, January 31, 2005, 17:16:45 He was never going to say "Yes Id go back like a shot" though was he?
Good luck to him its old news Ive moved on,he's moved on .I honestly think he's been missed this year both through his goals and also his leadership.Anyone who says different is deluded and just saying it because he went to Oxford. Im sure Christian Roberts will prove a excellent replacement in the long term. Title: Mooney Interview Post by: strooood on Monday, January 31, 2005, 17:23:51 he's such a cunt, i hate him as much as i did on the day he signed for you.
i'm just like that though, i even want to give that south african version of the barmy army a good kicking for not being english :beers raaaah if mooney never faces us again in football it will be a tradgedy. Title: Mooney Interview Post by: oxford_fan on Monday, January 31, 2005, 18:05:24 Quote from: "Johno" heard it was a dodgy penalty on saturday against Rovers? my mate was there (supports rovers of course!) clear pen. right in front of the OM stand, mooney with back to goal. defender the wrong side of him. keeper came out and took a wild swipe of the arm at the ball but got the moonster.bradbury put the pen in the bottom right, and the 'keeper saved. but he had encroached, so it was re-taken straight down the middle for 1-0. one other interesting thing about the whole mooney saga is that you lot seemed to have been told he could only play 1 match per week. when he signed here, he was keen to point out that it wasn't true and king only said it so that he could rotate mooney with fallon. mooney's showing no signs of fatigue and plays ever week. So yes he is still firing them in fine. :mooney Title: Mooney Interview Post by: DMR on Monday, January 31, 2005, 18:28:34 Mooney is a cunt, his attitude towards the club that saved his career make me sick at times.
Toomy Mooney on a piece of a string... Title: Mooney Interview Post by: Dazzza on Monday, January 31, 2005, 18:37:18 It doesn't seem like it but this season we have actually scored more goals without Mooney in the side. That’s with Brian Howard being the 2nd highest goal scorer and not even making the starting 11.
I’ll admit he was very good one of the best creators in the division and a good leader on the pitch but he clearly felt the strain towards the end of the season. He looked jaded and a shadow of the player he had looked in the early part of the season. Interesting to see the old goals drying up. He did benefit a hell of a lot from a creative midfield last season, David Duke having one of the best rate of assists in the league said it all. Title: Mooney Interview Post by: oxford_fan on Monday, January 31, 2005, 19:09:30 fair enough. i'd say prolonged, not saved.

That was only really towards the end of the season, so still may come to pass. Title: Mooney Interview Post by: Piemonte on Monday, January 31, 2005, 20:06:14 He faded badly as the season went on for us, his best form was pre christmas.
We do miss his leadership and abilty to unite the crowd but Roberts is a better player. Pitty his intestines are trying to force themselves into his ball bag as someone else put it. Title: Mooney Interview Post by: blinkpip on Wednesday, May 25, 2005, 18:15:00 :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick: Who r u!
Title: Mooney Interview Post by: unclemark on Wednesday, May 25, 2005, 18:21:52 A good Mooney chant would be "He's big, he stinks he really needs some Lynx Mooooonnnnnneeeeyyyyy!!!!! Moooonnnnneeeyyyy!
My Uncle made a good song about Mooney when he was playing for us. To the tune of Abba's Money,Money,Money: Mooney Mooney Mooney Mooney Mooney he will score a goal. The "he will score a goal" changed to "he has missed the goal" when he missed a good chance. Oh btw why is Piemonte an arse rapist?
