What was the match like Edinburgh? Haven't seen any of it, what I heard was though that Gretna gave Hearts a good game.

Fucking all power to you if you can't beat Gretna without going to penalties.  Those DVD's of the match will be flying out of the jam tart club shop.

(I'm only jealous btw - been along time since Skol Cup 1991) :|

First half was all Hearts, Cesnauskis hit the post, Bednar missed a sitter but then Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuudi scored his first goal since January with a neat finish from 8 yards. So far so good.

Second half was a complete turnaround, Gretna were by far the better team and should have been level before they were awarded a penalty 15 minutes from time which they scored from the rebound after Craig Gordon saved. Extra time followed and Hearts were denied a stonewall penalty when Skacel was brought down by their keeper, only he tried to stay on his feet instead of going down (ooo er missus).

So to penalties - Pressley, Nielson and Skacel all took great pens and Gretna scored their first 3 before ex Hibee and giant Derek Townsley took a terrible penalty and Craig Gordon saved easily. Pospisil blasted Hearts next penalty in and then Gavin Skelton of Gretna blasted his penalty against the bar. Joy and relief at the same time amongst the 40,000 Jambos.

Gretna were awesome and thoroughly deserved their lap of honour. The Hearts fans gave them a standing ovation and they were all wearing Hearts scarves and T shirts that were thrown to them.

The party afterwards and the parade were great fun. They had closed all the roads so we got carryouts and drank in the streets kicking footballs about

'The Hearts are having a party, the Hearts are having a party, the hearts are having a parrrrrrrrrrrrrty, the Hibs are in their beds/bins!'

'Oh your grannies grannies grannies grannies gran, oh your grannies grannies grannies grannies gran, oh your grannies grannies granny, your grannies grannies granny, have never seen the Hibs lift the cup'
