I have to say since i started using this forum, cunt is the one word that i find myself saying more, you lot are such a bad influence
I remember saying it at football once,i was about 15 and i was so angry that we'd lost i called some opposition player a cunt,it wouldn't have been so bad but there was a family in front of us,the look of horror on the mums face, my dads was just as bad!
Personally though i think its just another swear word i don't find it offensive at all really.

cuntybollox - when saying cunt is not appropriate - a milder non-sexist version
as in
"Oi , Cureton you big cuntybollox - you missed again!"

any chance to get it in the OED?

Cunt is, when said correctly, the worst word in the English language beyond Oxford I think.

I try not to use it in speech, although fuck trips off the tongue far too easily at times.  It's always good to have such words, they are reserved for when you really need to make a point and the more they are used the less effective they become.

Strangely some people also have the same feeling for Twat, which I always used to use freely like bloody hell, thinking it was quite a harmless slang word.

It is one of my favourite words but you do have to be a bit selective as to where and when you use it (well I think so any way). You have to remember there are still a few sensitive types around like poor little Sade

Selective usage of the word is key. Never, ever, use it in front of your mother or mother-in-law, except in road rage scenarios where it is perfectly acceptable.

Twat is perfectly acceptable in all scenarios, especially high powered business meetings.

And try calling an American a wanker. They have no idea what it means (generally). Its too easy!

Yeah, calling an American a wanker is like calling an English person a Silly Billy 8)

I like it mainly because it became accepted wisdom that it was a disgusting word, you even used to get alot of blokes saying 'ooh, I hate that word'.  I don't use it in certain circumstances, but then I don't swear at all when I don't think it's appropriate.

My favourite swearing is near the end of a 15 hour day, when you're soaked and freezing, and the words become indecipherable noises that really feel like they are the only thing enabling you to carry on.

Cunt is a great word, it's even more offensive when used in combination with fucking or multiple times. eg. you fucking fucking cunt or you fucking cunt cunt.
