Title: Lightweightness Post by: Sade on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 09:53:17 :( I think I'm getting worse. I went out last night to my old schools sixth form party at westbury football club. I knew I would be drinking because I had not drank in a while and needed a drink. Please note 'I had not drunk in a while' as I know that that can affect how pissed you are :D
Anyway I spent about £12 on drink and was fairly pissed by the end of the night. Stupid thing was I had only had 3 smirnoff ices, 2 double vodkas and coke and one double malibu and coke  I seem to remember pretending I had tourettes all night which some people actually believed. I kept shouting 'tit wank' really loudly every now and again. I am cringing today. (But if you think thats bad my friend was pissed on 3 glasses of wine  ) I was just wondering what it takes you all to get drunk and what do you drink? (I know that most of you are men and therefore concider yourself 'hardcore') And also is there anything else I can drink thats nice, instead of vodka and coke because thats making me feel ill now. 8) I'm going to make cocktails in the summer. Got a cocktail book. I like the one that del boy drinks. Title: Lightweightness Post by: Sade on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 09:54:08 You don't realise until you've posted, how many smileys you use. I'm going back to my old ways :D
Title: Lightweightness Post by: Amir on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 10:01:14 How much I can drink varies greatly depending on how much I've been drinking recently, how I'm feeling, whether I've eaten properly. The most I've ever been able to drink in one sitting is about 20 pints, though at the moment I reckon 6 would get me smashed.
And I wouldn't worry about being drunk on what you had, Sade. The girls I used to knock about with when I was your age only had to sniff the cider and they were rolling. Title: Lightweightness Post by: Sade on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 10:04:03  ha ha ha! I don't think I'm that bad so thats ok.
20 pints  Holy cow. Thats loads. Title: Lightweightness Post by: stfc_carver on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 10:23:17 20s a very respectable haul amir. my record for pint to time ratio is 9 pints in an hour and a half. i was quite pleased with that.
Title: Lightweightness Post by: walrus on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 11:08:56 My record's 19 over the course of 12 hours, but on an average evening out I only need 6-8 pints and I'm pretty far gone. Anything more than that, and you usually end up reading the resulting events on here! :D
Title: Lightweightness Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 11:45:23 My record on a night out is:
3 pints of Snakebite 3 shots of Sambuca 2 pints of Stella 30 vodka red bulls (drunk from a pint glass). Note: very little red bull due to stingy student club night. 5 bottles of some VK shit My other 2 flatmates decided to 'keep track' of how many units all the blokes were drinking, so it kinda turned into a contest :| I don't drink that much now. If it's a serious session probably 10 pints of Stella is the maximum I'll drink (luckily I don't have a wife). Title: Lightweightness Post by: magnum150 on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 12:10:31 4 pints and i'm anyones, 5 and i'm everyones. :chunder:
Still red wine is a differnet matter and a few bottles go down no problems. :beers: Title: Lightweightness Post by: STFC Village on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 14:17:13 1 bottle of white wine
6 pints of Fosters 3 double vodka & red bulls Was what i consumed on Friday night at a Wedding Reception. Apparently, i was flirting with the Grooms Mother :| Title: Lightweightness Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 14:30:08 Depends what sort of mood I'm in and how much I've been drinking in the previous days. Normally I stop and fall asleep around 2/3 bottles of wine. But that's only if I start in the evening.
Fuck knows what my record is. Probably not really worth thinking about. I've been sober most of this week :( Title: Lightweightness Post by: Sussex on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 14:32:06 Yesterdays drinkage:
2 cans of carling 4 bottles of white wine half bottle of vodka 6 six cans of red bull Apart from going out to buy a paper, bacon and a baguette, didn't leave the house all day :? Title: Lightweightness Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 14:33:01 Quote from: "Sussex Red" Yesterdays drinkage: 2 cans of carling 4 bottles of white wine half bottle of vodka 6 six cans of red bull Apart from going out to buy a paper, bacon and a baguette, didn't leave the house all day :? (cunt) Title: Lightweightness Post by: Sade on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 14:37:11 How people can drink whole bottles of wine I really don't know! Its strong stuff
Title: Lightweightness Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 14:41:04 Depends how strong it is Sade. A bottle of wine contains around 8 units for your average plonk I think (that's about 8 measures of vodka)
Title: Lightweightness Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 14:44:34 a bottle of 13.5% wine is a bit over 10 units. (1.7 a 125ml glass. 1.7*6 = 10.2)
14% is only a bit more at 10.8 units a bottle Not sure about the weaker 11-12% wines. For some reason I don't have any kicking around on my desk Title: Lightweightness Post by: sonic youth on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 14:45:51 i'm not a great drinker by any means and i'm certainly quite a lightweight but i've managed to polish off bottles of wine with ease in the past.
Title: Lightweightness Post by: Sade on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 14:46:04  I had 4 glasses of white wine once and my throat started burning so I stopped. Red wine is foul.

If you're feeling particularly clever you can work it out yourself by multiplying the percentage by the quantity (cl) Title: Lightweightness Post by: DMR on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 14:52:47 Weekend drinkage for DMR:
Roughly 20 pints of stella 2 pints Lowenbrau 4 pints Guiness 3 red wines A variety of shots- vodka, tequila rose and sambuqa (probably 3 or 4 of each) 1 jug of vodka red bull 3 double vodka and coke Shared bottle of champagne I'm paying for it :? Title: Lightweightness Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 14:54:13 you can indeed. I'm just lazy.
only gays buy wine weaker than 13%. Title: Lightweightness Post by: Tails on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 15:18:40 I can't handle very much at all... Anyone who went to City on the minibus could back me up on that.
Spirits are the worst for me, I always end up throwing up if I have too much  Title: Lightweightness Post by: DMR on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 15:21:13 Throwing up is proper gay.
Henderson didn't last night. Incredible. Title: Lightweightness Post by: Sade on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 15:23:18 I've never threw up from drink and I've never had an extremely bad hang over. I just feel a bit dizzy in the morning and I get a mouth like a cats ass.
Title: Lightweightness Post by: sonic youth on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 16:17:25 i always end up being sick after drinking. however, i've never had a hangover.

Title: Lightweightness Post by: Young_Man on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 18:56:57 I'm usually bladdered by about 8 or so pints  . Depends really though, if i have food before hand, i usually last longer 8) . But then i usually spew it all back out after
Title: Lightweightness Post by: PHIL!!!! on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 19:12:42 I had 8-9 cans of strongbow at a party last friday....so was pretty fucked...didnt feel to bad at all in the morning, which was good! Just had a bit of a head ache. Never spewed when drunk, which is pretty cool 8)
Title: Lightweightness Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 19:44:31 Haven't been sick for about a year when I was sick in a night club. Think it might have been more to do with the 8 out of date mini scotch eggs I'd decided I'd have for my dinner than alcohol.
Don't get hangovers really either. Think it's more practice than some natural gift. Title: Lightweightness Post by: Whits on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 19:51:03 i was sick after the city game...well about 8 hours after the city game when i continued to drink...a nice 16 hour session...thats the first time i've been sick in a 5-6 years due to drinking.
:x i got back on it again the next day though :\/ Title: Lightweightness Post by: Boeta on Sunday, May 14, 2006, 22:11:46 Quote from: "Sade" I've never threw up from drink i know a girl at uni who kept saying that in the first term. then one night last term she filled up her bin with sick, her next door neighbour's bin with sick, puked in the toilet, in her bed, on her floor. lovely stuff you're next Title: Lightweightness Post by: ibelieveinmrreeves on Monday, May 15, 2006, 00:28:59 Not being a drinker I'd imagine I'm anybodys after half a shandy.
The advantage of being sober when everyone else isn't: You remember exactly what embarrasing thing(s) they did, where and how often they were sick and can use embarrasing information against them in the future. Not that I'm a vindictive person. Title: Lightweightness Post by: McLovin on Monday, May 15, 2006, 07:37:32 I'm getting worse. I have cut out most weekday drinking now, so come the weekend and 6 pints later, i'm on the rocky road to karaoke/falling over/getting mouthy.
FA Cup final day required that little bit extra effort, so a crate of Becks, 3 glasses of red wine, 2 cans of carling and 2 bottles of stella were consumed. Sunday morning was fun :| Title: Lightweightness Post by: Luci on Monday, May 15, 2006, 07:59:52 Quote from: "Dave Blackcurrant" I'm getting worse. Title: Lightweightness Post by: Luci on Monday, May 15, 2006, 08:16:56 hehe! Ace.
I don't even keep track of what I drink to be honest! Normally something along the lines of Red/White wine/ Gin or Vodka & Tonic! Quantities Unknown!!! Title: Lightweightness Post by: RobertT on Monday, May 15, 2006, 09:32:57 Depends what you are drinking and how quickly (along with all the other stuff like what you've eaten etc). A long all dayer can easily see double a night outs alcohol intake but only equal the same level of drunkeness.
Saturday saw at least 8 pints of Stella, 1 bottle of white wine, 3 Sambuca's, 3 Smirnoff Ice and a Vodka and Red Bull. That's up till about 11pm and there were another 3 hours of drinking that I don't remember. Drinks like Lager get you drunk more quickly, as do mixing large amounts of soft drink with a spirit. Neat spirits mean you can drink for ages without being drunk but then hit falling down stage all of sudden. Tis because Alcohol is an irritant to the gut and the stronger it is the more likely the gut is to refuse entry. Try drinking neat spirits and then a few pints of water. Watch as the water seems to make yu get drunk! Title: Lightweightness Post by: Cookie on Monday, May 15, 2006, 09:39:39 I'm normally drunk after 6 pints but I have drunk 10 pints on a couple of sessions. Normally after 5 pints I can't take any mor fizz so move on to the tequila or whisky, I'm normally pretty sick the next day if this happens.
With hangovers, I never used to get any until I was about 24 and then they have progresively got worse year on year. Nowadays a serious hangover puts me out for a day at least, no food, water just about staying down. The only time I puke is when the room starts spinning, normally when i try to close my eyes, most of the time I can ride it out but sometimes it's s bad I have to puke. Not that I'm a vindictive person. I hate being the only sober one when everybody else is drunk. I find drunk people a bit annoying if I'm not one of them. Strangely I'm convinced I'm the acest drunk in the world, not annoying to sober people at all. With the eating thing, I've always found that food intake only makes a difference early on in a drinking session - you might start feeling a bit tipsy a pint earlier than you normally would but by the time you've hit drunkenness it doesn't really make much of a difference. Some times its 6 pints sometimes its 26 pints. Title: Lightweightness Post by: Arriba on Monday, May 15, 2006, 14:47:26 my record is 22 pints of strongbow on a sunday all dayer.i couldn't do that now.went out for the cup final saturday and had about 12 pints of carling, went home had a couple of cans and a curry then collapsed on the bed fully cloathed.out for the count.
last night had two bottles of wine. Title: Lightweightness Post by: Devon Red on Monday, May 15, 2006, 20:27:07 managed 16 pints in a 12 binge. also managed 16 tinnies in an 8 hour period (in a lift at uni for a bet-dont ask). Also depends like most people have said on how much i've eaten and whether i've drunk the previous day. Generally just stick to beer though.
