Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: Sade on Monday, May 8, 2006, 14:44:46 :(
I understand that iffy has to get rid of players whilst thinking of the future of swindon town, but at the same time I'm a bit sad that Migs is leaving. He's been here for a long time and was always a fans favourite. Always had time for the fans and is a genuinely lovely guy and I know he thought a lot about this club. Favourite stef goal - Wycombe away a few seasons a go (or was it 4?), we won 3-1 I think, Migs scored a beauty of a goal that just curled in lovely to the back of the net 8) Thankyou migs.... For the last time, Stefani woooooah Stefani woooooah...... Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: fatbury on Monday, May 8, 2006, 14:51:20 Hear Hear
Sad to see you go Migz ... personally you would have been my captain .. just dont go to Poxford!! Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: my-velocity on Monday, May 8, 2006, 14:53:50 He wasn't a strong player, frightened of tackling and couldn't hold the midfield well. This is based on this season of course.
Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: Spud on Monday, May 8, 2006, 14:59:27 I wish him all the best but he's been a bit of a liability this season tbh, no point keeping players on who will miss half the season through injury.
Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: Cookie on Monday, May 8, 2006, 15:17:35 He was a great player and I wll miss seeing him in a town shirt.
My favourite memory was of him bossing the midfield against Leeds in the League Cup at Elland Road. Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: Arriba on Monday, May 8, 2006, 15:29:57 seems a nice fella but had become a liabilty on the pitch when fit!
the right decision has been made. he was superb in our playoff year though. Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: Tails on Monday, May 8, 2006, 15:55:10 cheerio migz.
Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: DV on Monday, May 8, 2006, 16:12:51 best player at the club....or not now!
Got alot of time for Migz and I'm gutted he is going, I think its a massive mistake on Iffys part All the best Stef! Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: DV on Monday, May 8, 2006, 16:14:18 Plus (I know he is injured) we didnt give him any sort of send off, disgusting...
Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: adje on Monday, May 8, 2006, 16:17:41 Sound decision in my book although, when at his best was one of the most skilful midfield players we've had at this club.Just too injury prone now I'm afraid.

Well said Sade, Migs is a top bloke and will be missed, not only as a player but someone who was genuine and took time out to really talk to the fans. I wish him the best of luck for the future. Not for his wedding though, coz he should of married me :D Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: adje on Monday, May 8, 2006, 16:30:45 Yeah I know that-I'm not saying he hasn't been brilliant,I just dont think we'll get anything like 34 games if we keep him-specially not in the "clogger's division"

Post by: DMR on Monday, May 8, 2006, 16:32:28 Inevitable really. However if we lose Paul Smith it could prove costly.
Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: janaage on Monday, May 8, 2006, 16:36:08 All the best to the americano-brasilliero midfield maestro!! What a shame we couldn't have given to a decent send off, although I probably wouldn't have stayed anyway.
Good luck in whatever you do Stefani!! Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: Spencer_White on Monday, May 8, 2006, 16:39:46 Sad we couldnt have known this before saturday to give the bloke a good send off. Despite the injuries hes served the club well.
Easily the best long range passer at the club for years. Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. You never know... He might be going back to the States. Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: ibelieveinmrreeves on Monday, May 8, 2006, 17:40:52 Agree with most here, Migs has usually been a joy to watch, same about the injuries really, as he always seemed to take time to get back to form and promptly get injured again.
All the best Stef 8) Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: magnum150 on Monday, May 8, 2006, 18:45:04 I get the feeling he wants to go rather han Iffy saying Bye.
Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: Danjackson10 on Tuesday, May 9, 2006, 09:33:58 all the best migs :D
Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: McLovin on Tuesday, May 9, 2006, 09:42:28 Undoubtedly talented, but needed too much time on the ball (which he would have got in a higher division, and maybe would have flourished?). Injuries aside, having one good game in 10 wasn't ever going to inspire Iffy to keep him.
Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: PHIL!!!! on Tuesday, May 9, 2006, 13:25:58 It's a big shame he's leaving. My fondest memory of him, was when he took it passed 4 or so players, in our own box :D Twas awesome!

I dont really hold anything against him, but his inability to regually perform to his undoubtedly high potential got on my tits. And hes been crap this season (other the city at home when he was ace) If ever a player wasnt suited to league 2 football its him, so I think given that and his wanky form Iffy has done entirly the right thing. Get some battlers into centre mid next season. Title: The thankyou Mr.Migs thread. Post by: Luci on Thursday, May 11, 2006, 11:57:58 Its a shame but hes one of those players who you have a lot of respect for, even after he leaves the club.
Good luck to him I say. |
