Had a great season 95/96 despite being dropped everytime Thorne was fit, and then of course the leg break at Burnley where the ref told him to 'get up, he never touched you'. I was always confident he'd put away one-on-ones.

Such a shame his career didn't move on from there, although the broken leg didn't help. I think if my memory still gets things right he scored the 3rd or 4th when we thrashed Oxford 4-1 in Dec 97, and the crowd were singing "Finney Wonderland". Steve Cowe I thought was ok, again surprised his career tailed off after leaving us. I guess the lack of games in the later part of his career with us meant that other clubs probably were put off by that, and also didn't get a chance to see him play.
