Well well.... what a day! I am completely knackered but I feel really positive going into next season after that.

We played brilliantly, showed passion and grit and to all the city fans that thought they would thrash us, I hope your feeling embarrassed. Your fans were an embarrassment to your club, 13000 of them, why wernt they singing ? Its laughable.

To the town faithful - one word. FANTASTIC. Absolutely tremendous, sent shivers down my spine. One of the best away games I have ever been to. I have to say, I really never expect that much noise from us. Even after the full whistle went, all you could hear was 'swindon til i die' echoeing around ashton gate - quite moving  :oops:  
Still no noise from city. Despite us being relegated, I walked out the ground singing, with a smile on my face.

Really enjoyed myself, I don't feel down because I was prepared for it. All I can say is that I'm really looking forward to a fresh start next season. Its going to be good.

Well done everyone that went and sang their hearts out just like myself(yes I sang, my voice is crokey as proof). I love you all  :mrgreen:

I tell you why I'm so proud.......because before the game I put up with alot of shit! Stood with 14 fucking city fans waiting for the swindon coach to come in and the players to get off. People shouting things at me and my family, I was absolutely fuming  :)  Us and another couple with swindon shirts had to stand there and watch the players get off with about 200 city fans stood there singing 'your going down with the walsall' and 'we're gunna win 5-0'. Cureton stayed on the coach as their fans were getting really abusive towards him. People were shouting and telling iffy he was shit aswell which also pished me off!

I went into the ground praying that we'd get a result for our own sakes and just to prove the shitheads wrong and we bloody did and we did it with style.

8)  And yes suprisingly I did not cry although at times I felt like it but not for the reason we are down but because I was overwhelmed by how brilliant our fans were concidering the circumstances.... I'm scared its going to hit me tomorrow though. But for now, I am feeling proud and positive.

We all knew we were not going to get a very good result though. In all honesty I think the majority of us were expecting to lose. But we played so well and we ruined citys play off dream. We all knew this was going to happen!

If we'd played like that for the season we'd have been okay, and Iffy needs to get consistency next season. If he does, we'll be right back up again.

There were a huge amount of positives for us from that game, not least of which we fucked their play off chances up good and proper. Jerel seemed, despite a nervy start, to be back and playing well. Sean played his heart out. Lucas looked decent. Some of the loanees did well, let's hope we get some of those signed.

As a footnote, what a twat of a city fan who got thrown out for having a go at Curo. That was so funny.

City are a bunch of useless bottlers. They made such a big hype about the fact that they had sold all their seats in every stand and that it was a red and white day yet there was no noise, and no atmosphere. However , our end was buzzing and it was bloody brilliant.

Only thanks to some very bad luck in the box towards the end, though...

That's what the players should do, just ignore it and play your heart out and defy them. I heard Brown was getting a bit of stick, and when he scored i bet he was loving it and rubbing their noses in it.

Also our 2 year unbeaten run with derbys continue, long may it go on. :D

Very true. What we need is somebody like Whalley or Migs who can pplay every game well and hold the play. This has been a key factor quite often for us, but we haven't had anybody soing it consistently.

I was walking to my car after the match with loads of City fans around me and all that could be heard in the streets outside was "Swindon 'til I die!"

It was also interesting that the Brizzle fans were asking me if it was true we would be getting Holloway as manager. It seems that secretly they rate him quite highly and they fully expect to see us coming straight back up if it happens!

I heard about 2 chants on the radio by them all game.

It was trully brilliant, I have to say it again  :D  Even when city scored, they sang for about 5 seconds before we started off the 'red army' chant really loud. The rest of ashton gate fell quiet again!

I agree with sonic, I was dreading walking out the ground because I really thought there would be lots of city fans waiting around to give us stick but instead I could just hear city fans talking amongst themselves about how we were not a bad side at all.

On my walk back to Temple Meads... I was behind a couple of Swindon lads (teenagers). The traffic on the road was slow and a car full of City fans (in their 30's) half-heartedly tried mocking the Swindons kids.

These City fans were in a car and almost seemed scared to shout anything... One of the kids shut them up good and proper by mocking

2) The fact they were in a car and picking on 2 kids.

What a great day yesterday despite the obvious. Got on the drink from 9:30 in morning so wasn't feeling too healthy this morning.

Good atmosphere in the pumphouse before the game. a lot of banter with the city fans.
Great atmosphere in the ground. we've done ourselves proud and shown those city "fans" up.
Missed the goal though as I was queueing for a pasty and the service was terrible(been to 8 away games this year and this is the first goal we've scored).
walked half way round Bristol to get to the train station as my mate didnt have a clue where he was going.
