Title: Should Iffy be manager next season? Post by: janaage on Friday, April 28, 2006, 10:44:04 After todays story in the Adver where he's asking to be judged on a full season. If you were wealding the axe, would you sack Iffy pre season or not?

Post by: Bennett on Friday, April 28, 2006, 10:52:35 i wouldn't but i can see him going and being replaced by a heavily balding brizzle lad. yeovil came up with a nice idea of them being joint managers
Title: Should Iffy be manager next season? Post by: my-velocity on Friday, April 28, 2006, 11:02:32 Maybe see how he does for atleast quarter of the season and in pre-season so we can have an idea of how he does. The only thing i got against him is that he changes the team every match regardless of injurys and suspensions which i don't think he should do. But other than that he does alright.

Until Rotherham (when I am sure that there were various grumblings about contract and stuff going on behind the scenes that he had not much say in) it even looked for a bit like we might finish mid table. I think he desreves a chance, but also think he clearly needs a bit of support. Would seem harsh to sack him now, but then football can be harsh. Title: Should Iffy be manager next season? This season he was put in the deep end, with the resources and the team which was left he has done average. Although we may go down at City, we have the abiltiy to go straight back up maybe with him or Holloway. We havent lost a Derby in 2 years so you never know. Title: Should Iffy be manager next season? i think iffy is a top bloke as hes done quite well this year given the situation we were in Title: Should Iffy be manager next season? Post by: Dazzza on Friday, April 28, 2006, 12:56:59 I think the dream team is an Iffy & Holloway pairing although I'm sure both would have their own thoughts on that.
I’m certainly not far kicking Iffy out for the sake of it unless there's a ready made replacement lined up with a decent service history willing to step into the fold. I’d still suspect that if the next two games go badly then there’s every chance the board will seriously looking at moving him. Possibly back to a youth team development manger role. If he stays the back room staff seriously need sorting out again ideally with Iffy being allowed to bring in an experienced number two. Title: Should Iffy be manager next season? Post by: Leggett on Friday, April 28, 2006, 13:20:10 yes, but only if someone such as Holloway was to come in. i'd like to see him stay at the club tho, but i'm not sure if he'd be willing to take a step back into the background...
Title: Should Iffy be manager next season? Post by: STFC Village on Friday, April 28, 2006, 13:32:39 I voted no. Sounds like we're getting a decent size transfer budget (for L2) next year, and i think it would be a massive gamble to allow an inexperienced young manager to splash out. I'm sure Mr Power would rather have his money spent by someone with a little more nous (sp?) in the transfer market. You only have to look at how many left wingers and strikers Iffy bought in on loan in the last 6 months, to see he hasn't got much of a clue what the team needed.
I'd imagine we're a reasonably attractive club to join, after our cash injection. Lets get the right man for the job. Title: Should Iffy be manager next season? Post by: OOH! Title: Should Iffy be manager next season? Post by: flammableBen on Friday, April 28, 2006, 13:59:31 Yeah I think I voted using the thread title and not the title of the polll. Does somewhat bring into question the accuracy of the result.
Title: Should Iffy be manager next season? Post by: McLovin on Friday, April 28, 2006, 14:00:06 Doh! I meant to vote for him to be sacked!
Title: Should Iffy be manager next season? Post by: Nomoreheroes on Friday, April 28, 2006, 14:35:07 I did the same Dave. Thats what happens when the thread title and questions are at odds.

Title: Should Iffy be manager next season? Post by: sonic youth on Friday, April 28, 2006, 20:17:14 i'll make a new poll.
i'd keep iffy on, he deserves to be given the chance to do things his own way, with his own players and starting from scratch. i remain unconvinced of his tactical knowledge and have my reservations over him, but i don't like seeing a high turnover of managers ala oxford. Title: Should Iffy be manager next season? Post by: janaage on Tuesday, May 2, 2006, 09:11:30 Fucking brilliant!! Sorry fella's!
Title: Should Iffy be manager next season? Post by: Duncan_Shearer on Tuesday, May 2, 2006, 12:14:10 I would love Holloway to come in as manager. He would do the one thing that Swindon have been crying out for... Fitness. We use to win games in the last 10 minutes under Macari, now we seem to only play for 45 minutes. He would put the passion back into our club and has got a good track record at getting promotion. If we keep Iffy and don't go up, i think we would struggle to get out of league 2 for a few years.
