One Mr Power tried to sign a while ago for the Town. Quote "We (Swindon) recently put an offer in for (Cheshunt striker) Jermaine Beckford but he wanted to go to a higher level and good luck to him. "We are not suddenly going to spend a million pounds on a player. But if there are players that will improve the squad that we can afford, we can move for them. 35 goals in 40 games and eventually signed for Leeds. Certainly one that got away, however although the fee was eventually undisclosed the fact we are competing on that level against Leeds, Palace and Watford is a breath of fresh air. Not getting carried away but the fee is rumoured to be 200k. Do you have any evidence of this, or is this just a rumour?
