Title: This Club Post by: Asher on Monday, April 24, 2006, 08:06:13 This weekend its finally hit me, what a joke this club is becoming. Loud and proud? Your having a laugh arent you tuck? As for next week yeah I will still go and next season I will still go, why? Because I am the worlds biggest mug. I cant believe those 11 players have less passion than the supporters. OK maybe not 11, the only ones with credit are cureton, peacock, evans and the youths coming through. I say fuck all of them and play the youth team the last two games, in fact sign up 11 lads from our lot and you will see more challenges put in etc.
Devlin needs to sort this club from marketing to the onfield product. Its not acceptable, I always wondered what supermarine would be like if bigger than us but I worry we will find out in 2 seasons. The players dont give a shit and most dont care about their reputations in the town etc.. Fucking Joke Title: This Club Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, April 24, 2006, 08:16:15 I can see STFC ceasing to exist in a few years to be honest. Depends how we do next year; stadium or no stadium.
Title: This Club Post by: pauld on Monday, April 24, 2006, 08:19:28 Ash, wouldn't disagree with most of that, but it's a bit unfair to have a go at Rob T. OK, after the weekend "Quiet and ashamed" (with special emphasis on the quiet please, I've got a killer hangover) might be more how people feel, but it's not Rob's fault the tossers on the pitch don't do it. If the players put in half the effort Rob has this season, we'd be safely midtable by now.

The on and off field antics have been going on for years it's one thing after another us fans can only take so much before something goes bang. And yes i think within the next few years swindon town football club wont exist (and supermarine will be playing at the county ground instead :?). At the end of the day i will still support them through thick and thin because i am used to the shit the club/team throws at me. Title: This Club Post by: Asher on Monday, April 24, 2006, 08:26:40 Wasnt havinga go at him personally and if it came across l;ike that wasnt intended just meant im not gonna be proud of those piss artists.
Title: This Club Post by: yeo on Monday, April 24, 2006, 08:28:44 I think Rob should be burned at the stake.
Its all his fault.. Ive got the pitchforks ready all I need now are some villagers and we can get him. Down with Loud and Proud. ROAR!!!!!! Title: This Club Post by: cavpete on Monday, April 24, 2006, 08:33:03 should be called quiet and humiliated
not loud and proud Title: This Club Post by: Batch on Monday, April 24, 2006, 09:00:17 This club needs soemthing major to happen if it is to prosper:
1. Stadium Development to increase non matchday revenue. 2. Buyout and major investment from someone. Scenario 1: Given SBC are involved I just can't see it happening. This is the council who are ploughing £2.5 million into Headlands school, a school due to be demolished in 2 years time regarless. Scenario 2: Why would a major investor come on board if not to facilitate scenario 1? And if that is the case why would/should Sir Seton step aside without renumeration? So all I can see is perlong misery unless Sir Seton decides he has more money and/or we get lucky. Bugger, that is depressing. Oh, and we have to pay the £900K CVA at the end of this season too... Title: This Club Post by: le god cuervo on Monday, April 24, 2006, 09:10:30 this is a bit off tangent, but having visited the county ground recently (ok, maybe nearer xmas) it pissed me off to see so many pictures of the fucking elton john concert hanging in all the corridors around the ground. up around the exec suites it used to be full of pics of the 69 cup final, the play off finals, us in the premier league etc but this all seems to have been removed, dont know why? do the current board lack the ambition to achieve similar things?
surely pictures of our history are more important than a wanky concert? any outsiders visiting the club would think that nothing else had ever happened to the town apart from a visit from the gay boy the players should be reminded of our previous history, maybe it would inspire them & show them what can be achieved if they worked hard? it was interesting reading john trollope's book recently. says we used to be a real community club getting gates of 20,000 when the population of the town was only 100,000! we had loads of home grown players as well wish it was like that now :( Title: This Club Post by: RobertT on Monday, April 24, 2006, 09:33:00 Quote from: "Yeovil Red" I think Rob should be burned at the stake. ROAR!!!!!! :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick: It also brings back memories of being chased around Llorette de Mar just over a week ago by a womens rugby team! Asher, know what you mean. I'm proud to be a swindon fan, not necessarily proud of the shite on the pitch on Saturday though. Still, been here before, no doubt will be here again in the future as well. Title: This Club Post by: Spud on Monday, April 24, 2006, 12:30:59 Ive never got this L&P stuff?, ive always been Loud & Proud of supporting this Club it's just a shame 90% of the starting 11 couldnt give a fuck.
Title: This Club Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, April 24, 2006, 12:33:18 This reminds me too much of that shit maroon 5 song:
This club has taken its toll on me We've faced the drop too many times before And this club is breaking in front of me I have no choice cause I won’t say goodbye anymore Title: This Club Post by: RobertT on Monday, April 24, 2006, 12:56:12 Quote from: "Spuddy_STFC" Ive never got this L&P stuff?, ive always been Loud & Proud of supporting this Club it's just a shame 90% of the starting 11 couldnt give a fuck. Then you do get it, just not necessarily feel the need to join in with any of the stuff we arrange. It's the concept that is natural to some fans, such as yourself, that we tried to suggest could be more widespread. We've tried to do that by using the sorts of imagery fans tend to naturally go towards on big days out (play off and cup finals for example - notice a sudden desire by people to bring flags etc). haivng said that, we know we won't ever convince everyone that it's a good idea and we also know a good % will carry on supporting the way they always have. It has been good fun though, despite the shite on the pitch this season, and when combined with drinking can be even more fun. Agree with you final sentiment. Title: This Club Post by: Spud on Monday, April 24, 2006, 14:41:07 Could you get the players to be L&P by any chance?.
Title: This Club Post by: RobertT on Monday, April 24, 2006, 14:46:13 It would seem not!
Title: This Club Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, April 24, 2006, 15:11:09 I think all the players should be made to listen to Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now to put it into some sort of perspective:
I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour But heaven knows I'm miserable now I was looking for a job, and then I found a job And heaven knows I'm miserable now Title: This Club Post by: reeves4england on Monday, April 24, 2006, 15:55:41 Quote from: "simon pieman" I think all the players should be made to listen to Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now to put it into some sort of perspective: I think the players should be made to stand infront of fans telling them exactly what they think. What more could give them a kick up their lazy backsides?!I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour But heaven knows I'm miserable now I was looking for a job, and then I found a job And heaven knows I'm miserable now Title: This Club Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Monday, April 24, 2006, 16:16:23 i dont think we will be in existance in 2 years time. its going to be a challenge with our budget to get a decent side for next season. therefor its mid-table or below im afraid. that means smaller crowds and less revenue with people losing interest in the club and the stadium plan going bust shortly followed by the club itself
Title: This Club Post by: Sade on Monday, April 24, 2006, 16:20:52 Everythings wrong lately :( Its not a nice thing to see happen to your club. I hope things get better next season I really do.
Title: This Club Post by: Tails on Monday, April 24, 2006, 16:39:28 How do you know the stadium plans will go bust then Rich?
Title: This Club Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Monday, April 24, 2006, 16:42:03 Quote from: "Tails" How do you know the stadium plans will go bust then Rich? because SBC are a bunch of fools who will go out of their way to find any reason why a new development should not go ahead. and that reason will be because the interest in STFC has dropped so considerably (it will have done in a years time that is) that even with a new stadium we will not be able to create a club that benefits the community (or something stupid like that) SBC=wankers the lot of them Title: This Club Post by: Spencer_White on Monday, April 24, 2006, 16:44:51 Its fucking harsh everyone having a go at Loud and Proud.
Its been a tough season to watch for everyone. The crowd were quite up for it on saturday, but of course it died after the 1st goal. Title: This Club Post by: Sade on Monday, April 24, 2006, 17:07:00 I really can't see why people are slating think loud and proud. I think the idea has been fucking brilliant concidering the position we've been in and its showed other people what a loyal bunch of fans we have. And before anyone starts,In no way am I saying that without it we are less loyal or crap or whatever.
Theres been games that I had been dreading, but the fact that they've been loud and proud games has kind of in a way for me made me look forward to it. I love seeing flags, banners, streamers, ballons , it shows we've made the effort and it gets everyone in the right frame of mind. It cheers me up. Its like the city game, I am not looking forward to that really but it should be good because I've heard that theres going to be alot going on in that match, loud and proud wise. Show those city fans that we are proud to be swindon fans, thats what its all about. 10 out of 10 for the organisers of loud and proud this season. They've been great. Don't listen to the grumpy, moaning old sods that hate abit of colour and excitment  Title: This Club Post by: stokes on Monday, April 24, 2006, 17:15:57 We just haven't got the quality anymore. we can't keep clean sheets (god knows how we'll manage if we lose rhys) and since we lost parkin, judas and fallon we just can't cope. i just hope we get back up next season or i can see us going down further with the state of the club off the pitch

The last proposals were just not possible. The fresh proposals have got positive feedback from the Council as far as I'm aware so maybe they'll be more helpful with the next? Thinking about it, the guys I have met who would be considered TEF guys, have been pretty good fun so far. Sonic's a bit down at times, but I put that down to me attacking him and me generally being drunk as a skunk whenever he sees me. Rob enjoys it to I know he does. If you look hard enough on their forum ive said some nice things as well but nobody notices them .
