Whilst I would say Iffy has been less than impressive over the last 6 weeks. We do have to keep Iffy and most of this squad together for next season. To start again this summer would be a massive gamble, and would probably result in us being relegated again. Whereas if we keep the team together and get a better work ethic out of them we might be mid table.

Iffy needs to exert some authority over his players this summer. Our players have been an undisciplined rabble this season.

I disagree, most of the squad will probably leave in the summer given that we have been relegated, and I don't think Iffy is up to the task.  Also with funds freed up once King's paid up, we could afford someone a touch more experience.

I also think it is impossible to get a better work ethic out of much of the team, and those who've been guilty of going out too frequently for a professionally paid footballer (I'm not talking about a player who's ever been seen in a pub - I'm referring to the regular pissheads) should be shown the door.  Of the current crop I would only want to see Peacock, Gurney, Evans, O'Hanlon, Ifil, Jenkins and Miglioranzi next season.

King werent on that much money. Not nearly enough to rebuild a side with! I agree about those players. I would keep Brown (even if he is another of the pissheads). Jack Smith is a solid pro. Not bothered about O'Hanlon/Shakes/CCP.

Theres a very real possibility of us slipping out the league next season if we follow your plan. We just cant risk it. Torquay last season were better than what we are this season, and look at them now. There is a history of sides relegated from div 2 struggling in div 3.

I think there's an equally good chance we'll slip away if we keep Iffy at the helm. He's just not up to it at this stage in his career.

Think what Walrus means is that the King money could be used to employ a proper manager, although I think more likely the Board will use relegation  to employ Iffy on a much reduce contract and save a few quid.

 if however there are anti Board protests he will be sacked and someonre like Molby brought in.

I think the players will cop more stick now, rather than the board (righly or wrongly).

Id love to have someone like Dave Bassett. But anyone whos been around the game will know not to come here. Just like when Coppell fucked off after a few months. Not without a mjor overhaul of the boardroom.

Jan Molby is a smashing chap I shook his hand once on a night out in Liverpool and had a chinwag and he's a nice enough fella.

I think somone mentioned  MD confirmed King has another 12 months of pay day to run after the summer anyway so the money won't be coming up for use any time soon.  Then as Mr Perrin said any funds freed up will just be absorbed within cost cutting measures.

Perhaps we should be done with a manager next season and just let Sandy pick the side.

I though King was on a rolling contract Daz, thus we should be able to get shot come June?

I think I heard that King will be paid up to September, 1 yr after he was sacked as he was on a 1 yr rolling contract.

Next season we need to sort out a set team, let them play and get used to each other, and only change it for injuries/suspensions, it might not work straight away, but it will end up with the team knowing where players are going to be and how to play around them, which is what we haven't had this season.

And of course the Copa Ibiza can help as well.

if Iffy can get the players to play like that more often, then he should stay.

Today they showed more guts than they ever did under King, shame its come too late

i think iffy should be here next season, regardless of division. someone in the summer needs to tell him about the relationship between tactics and formation though (ie-no wing backs when we play like wimbledon) and preferably some players with experience to help our inept defence and we'll do better.
