Waking up to a minger after getting pissed is one thing, but a glass with teeth in them is something else. Walrus you are one sick puppie. Title: walrus news Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Monday, April 17, 2006, 14:58:51 it was in the funky budha lounge, i popped out for 5 minutes and when i got back you look scared and your mate was laughing
Title: walrus news Post by: DMR on Monday, April 17, 2006, 17:19:41 I fucking hate bouncers like that.
"You're pissed mate." Yeah, why else would I want to go on a sweaty, overcrowded dancefloor, pay through my nose to get in, listen to shit music and pay 8 pounds a fucking pint? Knobs. Title: walrus news Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Monday, April 17, 2006, 17:36:19 Quote from: "dave_m_russell" I fucking hate bouncers like that. "You're pissed mate." Yeah, why else would I want to go on a sweaty, overcrowded dancefloor, pay through my nose to get in, listen to shit music and pay 8 pounds a fucking pint? Knobs. it is illegal to let someone who is drunk into a nightclub. holdup! has airconditioning its a fiver to get in. music is top quality its £2.50 a pint. we dont all live in fuckin devizes dave, some clubs have reached the 21st century and unbelievably dont play rick fuckin astley anymore Title: walrus news Post by: DMR on Monday, April 17, 2006, 17:37:27 That's bollocks though, I'd say 90% of people who go to a club are wankered. And I never go clubbing in Devizes.
Title: walrus news Post by: DMR on Monday, April 17, 2006, 17:39:40 Besides Mex my gripe isn't with the clubs it's with the spastics on the door. Failed coppers the lot of 'em.
Title: walrus news Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Monday, April 17, 2006, 17:40:41 its ok if you have had a few drinks, but if you are obviously drunk, you will not be allowed in. thats the truth. pablo was shitfaced doormen came up to me and said your mate is fucked im really sorry but we cant let him in, went outside and saw him and he was swaying to the sound of the sea :D
Title: walrus news Post by: DMR on Monday, April 17, 2006, 17:41:19 Should've given him a good kicking.
Title: walrus news Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Monday, April 17, 2006, 17:48:14 Quote from: "dave_m_russell" Besides Mex my gripe isn't with the clubs it's with the spastics on the door. Failed coppers the lot of 'em. dave speaking as someone who has worked in clubs for years, i can imagine exactly how you would be at the door of my night and 9 times out of 10 i bet you wouldnt get in. who would honestly want to be a doormen? you have to have a certain mentality to goto work every night not knowing if you were going to be glassed or worse. due to the ne wlicensing laws everybody who enters a club must have picture id. this is what happens 8 or 9 times a night with people who have had alchol. i stand on the door and i hear the following conversation endlessly. doormen - can i see your id please clubber - what? im 28 d- we need to see picture id as due to the new licesning laws everybody needs to be traceable c- fuckin id im 28 this is a joke. d- we just need to see id or you cant come in c- im 28 course i havent got any id fuckin idiot. d- could you please step out of the queue you are not coming in c- fuckin prick what have i done, fucking cunt. its hard to see why doormen get wound up aint it?!?! Title: walrus news Post by: DMR on Monday, April 17, 2006, 17:54:19 Ain't hard to see why your customers get wound up either is it
As a doorman you must know you're going to be dealing with pissed up people. Title: walrus news Post by: reeves4england on Monday, April 17, 2006, 17:57:52 Quote from: "dave_m_russell" Ain't hard to see why your customers get wound up either is it Its not them that make the rules though. I may sound stupid here but Mex is winning this argument imo!As a doorman you must know you're going to be dealing with pissed up people. Title: walrus news Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Monday, April 17, 2006, 18:02:28 there isnt an arguement at the end of the day, the doormen of a club are only as good as the promoter, the promoter sets the guidelines for the doormen and if any of them step out of line they are sacked.
dave if you came to the door of holdup! with that sort of attitude there isnt a cat in hells chance you would get in and quite rightly so. why do the rest of the people in the club need a pissed up self-important angry cunt in the place. beats me. Title: walrus news Post by: DMR on Monday, April 17, 2006, 18:04:10 Not really Mex, 'cos I'm a young 'un when I go to a club I haven't been to before I'll get ID'd. But as I expect to I just wave my driving license around and go on it.
Which proves my point about thick bouncers, as I'm only 17. Title: walrus news Post by: yeo on Monday, April 17, 2006, 18:05:22 I dont own a photo Id.
My clubbing days are over\ :D / Title: walrus news Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, April 17, 2006, 18:06:14 Some doormen are cunts, others are quite the opposite. It depends on the venue usually.

Title: walrus news Post by: sonicyouth on Monday, April 17, 2006, 19:53:25 how long before dave gets a serious kicking?
anyone fancy starting a sweepstake? Title: walrus news Post by: walrus on Monday, April 17, 2006, 20:17:32 Quote from: "mexico red" The arc has airconditioning its a fiver to get in. music is top quality its £2.50 a pint. Fixed. Holdup! was ace, though I can't remember the music, but generally in a club I don't notice the music. Funky Buddha is a distant memory, though it was probably my least favourite of the 3 as it was so rammed. The problem is in Brighton they're especially paranoid about trouble - whether before I started clubbing Brighton was especially dodgy, or if it still is but somehow I've kept my nose (relatively) clean, I don't know but either way they are paranoid. Bouncers are a mixed bag, though in Brighton generally they're a bit stingy. But then again, I think I'd be pretty stingy if I'd been talking to pissed people all night. When you're not pissed, talking to pissed people is possibly the most annoying thing in the world. Maybe the bouncers should have a few drinks?! |
