What a fucking shit story this is.  So Rooney owes £700,000 who gives a flying fuck.  The bloke is on shit loads a week, he can't go out and piss it all up against a wall.  There;s only so many houses/cars/holidays you can buy.  So the young lad wants to get his thrills by gambling.  Typical shit tabloid journalism.

Thanks for the link though Lady!

If you put a 20 yr old on say 50k a week, he's going to blow some of it. End of the day he's a young lad with loads of money...

He could pay that debt off in less than a year max.

I agree, on such a high wage something needs to be done with the money!

I don't disagree with what they want to do with the money, only if it affects the football they're getting all the money for!

I was under the impression Coleen spent more of Rooneys money than he did himself?  :-))(

I found this story interesting.

Dunno what they're moaning about, £38 for a top price season ticket seems pretty cheap even if you have to sit watching Man United play every week, at least they get some good sides playing there sometimes. Works out about £2 a game.

Most footballers, those with a decent financial adviser anyway, register themselves as a company, and base that company offshore, therefore bypassing the income tax and NI liability.

Most players at STFC do not have this problem though, they're just happy with the news that the minimum wage has just risen.

2 seasons ago (I think) my mate was in London and went to West Ham v West Brom in the Championship. There was 2 of them and they went to enquire about prices, they cost £38, each!! The game finished 4-3 to West Ham so they got their monies worth I suppose!
