Title: Cooking
Post by: Ralphy on Sunday, April 9, 2006, 13:42:30
Anyone else into cooking?

I've been knocking up some excelent dishes with my workmate for the past 6 months to kill time in the afternoons.

Dishes include...

Authentic texen chili (not your mince meat crap)

Pork in cider, honey and wholegrain mustard with apple dumplings

Kangaroo steaks (bloody beautiful, much better than steak)

Belly Pork with chili beans

Thai Curry

Lastly, Crocadile. (yes croc)

I cook because I need to eat rather than doing it for something to do. I made a chilli last night.  I must get round to baking my own pizza again soon.

Ralph, as long as you don't eat rabbit. You know how much that would upset me.

Rabbit, snake, horse, lama.

As they say up in Newcastle MEAT is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

I'm not a bad cook although that speech impeded Twawt Oliver puts me off for life.

Simple Omelettes is my speciality

I used to find simple cooking so daunting but it's not that hard. The more you worry about things the worse it turns out. You're better off just getting on with it and asking yourself 'would I eat that?', that way you're guarenteed to get an ok meal (unless you'd eat anything).

My housemate Claire asked me how to roast potatoes once  :o

What's wrong with that?  I had to do that a couple of months ago....  I knew absolutely nothing when I went to uni, and now, I still know nothing.  My flatmates must hate me, every time I go to cook something I have to ask "how do I do this".  Cooking is not a man's job....   :D

The old student classic of pasta cheese and beans is good if your hungry and skint. Have a big helping and you don't have to eat for the rest of the week.
