Title: Platt, Pook and Jack Smith sign on Post by: Stef Troll on Tuesday, March 28, 2006, 14:45:43 Signed on to the end of the 2006-2007 season
Good to see Platt and Smith signing on, but Pook imo needs to improve big style to get in the team. Yeah, good news IMO, but send Pook out on loan for half of next season, for him to get a bit more experience. Because you have to bare in mind that this was his first ever senior season, this season and he has had a lot of pressure put on him from the off. Title: Platt, Pook and Jack Smith sign on Post by: McLovin on Tuesday, March 28, 2006, 14:50:31 The fact that Pook is paid to be a professional footballer disgusts me. :x
Title: Platt, Pook and Jack Smith sign on Post by: STFCBird on Tuesday, March 28, 2006, 14:52:22 That is ace news about Platt and Smith.
I agree with Phil!, might doo Pook good to have a loan spell. He might pick up some skill - sorry experience saying that, he didn't have a bad game saturday Title: Platt, Pook and Jack Smith sign on Post by: larwood on Tuesday, March 28, 2006, 14:54:32 Quote might doo Pook good to have a loan spell. Title: Platt, Pook and Jack Smith sign on Post by: DV on Tuesday, March 28, 2006, 15:19:44 Glad CCP is signed up, Smith has done well in fits and starts still dont think we have seen the best of him
Pook is a decent player, I thought he played well at the start of the season and then looked very burnt around around Christmas time. He is a young inexpirenced player playing in a terrible side which changes most weeks of course he isnt going to be brilliant. I thought is said also that Ifil had signed? Title: Platt, Pook and Jack Smith sign on Post by: McLovin on Tuesday, March 28, 2006, 15:26:08 I must be watching a different player. He offers nothing. His ineptitude amazes me. For someone who is young and meant to have a "good engine" he always looks fucking knackered and is constantly left for dead by fit, enthusiastic, energetic midfielders. He is virtually Hewlett, with better heading ability. Don't get me started on his passing, either.

Again, think back to the start of the season...he was certainly much better....then he thought he had made it started living the pro footballer life style, now he is shit and cant drive...hmmm.... Title: Platt, Pook and Jack Smith sign on Post by: Arriba on Tuesday, March 28, 2006, 15:27:46 agree with dv85 about the three lads mentioned.+ ifil has signed, bet he couldn't beleive his luck.
Title: Platt, Pook and Jack Smith sign on Post by: Johno on Tuesday, March 28, 2006, 15:51:17 Pook needs to wake up in my opinion. He knows how he is safe for next season, if he wasn't he may have actually done something like make a tackle and not just run and run and run for no reason.
Title: Platt, Pook and Jack Smith sign on Post by: sonicyouth on Tuesday, March 28, 2006, 16:20:10 good, bad, not too bothered.

Title: Platt, Pook and Jack Smith sign on Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, 20:40:18 Has Roberts got a bit longer than the end of the season?
Can't recall what he's on if you pardon the pun. Title: Platt, Pook and Jack Smith sign on Post by: sonicyouth on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, 20:42:23 not sure about christian, but i posted this on the l&p forum (sorry) and cant'# be arsed to retype it
on the subject of contracts, i spoke to stef on saturday and he seems set to leave the club. he was offered a contract a couple of months ago, he accepted the terms the club gave him but didn't sign anything and the club haven't spoken to him since about it. he's been dropped from the team, he's sold his house and i'm fairly sure he would have signed today if the offer was still there for him. Title: Platt, Pook and Jack Smith sign on Post by: McLovin on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, 20:46:52 What do you know about Stef then, SY?
Title: Platt, Pook and Jack Smith sign on Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, 20:47:31 Shame to see Migz go really but a fresh start and all will probably suit given the way things have gone for him of late.
He's been fantastic for the club just a real shame with those injuries. Title: Platt, Pook and Jack Smith sign on Post by: Simon Pieman on Thursday, March 30, 2006, 00:16:20 I thought the three of them had gone down the job centre.
Title: Platt, Pook and Jack Smith sign on Post by: DV on Thursday, March 30, 2006, 11:45:01 It was clear months ago Migz was leaving, he hasnt been himself...good luck the lad...our loss...
Title: Platt, Pook and Jack Smith sign on Post by: McLovin on Thursday, March 30, 2006, 11:47:45 Yes, our loss... his fine form is bound to keep us up this season, isn't it Daniel?

On his day he is the best midfielder we've got.....since the contract situation arised he hasnt been himself.... Rather him in midfield than Pook!!! Title: Platt, Pook and Jack Smith sign on Post by: McLovin on Thursday, March 30, 2006, 11:56:56 He can be good, but not often enough. There's no point having a player who doesn't use his ability accordingly.

To be honest I don't see the point in keeping him if we're in League 2 next year. He won't be able to play his pretty football down there. He's one of the clubs highest earners as well. He tore Bristol City apart down here and was a rock in defence at Rotherham, just two examples. Why wouldnt he be able to play football in League Two, there is hardly any difference these days. Look at the teams who have come up...Yeovil, Swansea, Southend and Scunthorpe they all play football.... Title: Platt, Pook and Jack Smith sign on Post by: reeves4england on Thursday, March 30, 2006, 16:58:16 I'm upset that Stef may no t be here. He has been a good player for us and is a model pro.
Smith and CCP I am pleased to hear about, and I think Ifil could well be worth keeping. I'm not bothered about pook either way. He has a lot to do though. |
