Title: Peter Crouch Post by: Devon Red on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 21:02:16 Once and for all-
quality or shit? I'll go first-shit (the main reason for this thread is because i cant be bothered going throught the other thread sorry) Title: Peter Crouch Post by: Devon Red on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 21:03:50 also i'm a little confused why its come up with dwight yorke-bloody strongbow!
Title: Peter Crouch Post by: Johno on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 21:05:09 they changed it so that when you type p-e-t-e-r c-r-o-u-c-h it chanes to dwight yorke. i like it.
Title: Peter Crouch Post by: STFC Village on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 21:06:44 Can i say - effective?
Title: Peter Crouch Post by: Johno on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 21:07:30 i'd agree with that. His main job is to assist the other striker, which he does do EFFECTIVELY. yes it works 8)
Title: Peter Crouch Post by: Devon Red on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 21:16:56 The thing is though the commentators always say "he's not great in the air" so why bother playing him then seeing as his main asset is height? he's not great with his feet either
especially for england he'd not even get on the plane with me to germany. or am i being too harsh on him? Title: Peter Crouch Post by: flammableBen on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 21:22:06 I think he's sexy
Title: Peter Crouch Post by: STFC Village on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 21:22:50 I'm sure BWB would have agree with me, you're being rather harsh. I must admit, he seems to have trouble generating much power on headers, kind of key in front of goal. But he is a useful target man, and i'd have him in the England WC squad. See Argie game recently, for evidence that he would be very useful for a late surge forward to try and salvage a game.
Title: Peter Crouch Post by: DV on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 21:27:12 He is different in what he does, no other England forward can offer what PC does....thats why he is going to Germany....not because he is a top class centre forward if you get what I mean.
Still, hes scored 2 tonight, only against Birmingham.... :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick: Title: Peter Crouch Post by: land_of_bo on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 21:27:56 And if any light bulbs need changing in the hotel rooms he's the man.
Title: Peter Crouch Post by: sonicyouth on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 21:29:35 he's growing on me. problem is, he looks WRONG on a football pitch. i just can't get me noggin round that.

Makes me laugh when people were suggesting James Beattie was a better alternative to Crouchy because he doesn't score enough a few days ago but Crouchy has now got two more goals than Beattie this season.... He's a must for England, especially on current form - 6 goals in 9 games. For the world cup the definite strikers are Rooney Owen Crouchy and it's the others that are still up for grabs. I think that sonic youth sums up why people don't rate him but if you judge him on his football he's well worth his place and importantly a completely different option from England's other strikers. Title: Peter Crouch Post by: Reg Smeeton on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 21:48:39 The Crouchmeister is a class act.....they've prepared a longer bed in the Hun hotel where England are staying
Title: Peter Crouch Post by: Bob's Orange on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 21:57:37 Crouch v Beattie on saturday morning. Beattie has played 2 less league games but has scored 10 goals (10 in 21). Crouch has 5 in 23 in the league.
Title: Peter Crouch Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 22:01:31 Quote from: "Edinburgh_STFC" Yorke v Beattie on saturday morning. Beattie has played 2 less league games but has scored 10 goals (10 in 21). Yorke has 5 in 23 in the league. That's wrong.... Not sure where you got 5 from but that's totally out it is 7 in the league. Plus 3 in the fa cup, two in the world club cup and one for England, so 13 in total. Beattie only has one other in the cup making 11. Crouchy wins. 8) Title: Peter Crouch Post by: Bob's Orange on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 22:03:49 http://pro.fantasyleague.com/Stat/ClubByClub.aspx?grouping1Id=15
Crouch http://pro.fantasyleague.com/Stat/ClubByClub.aspx?grouping1Id=13 Beattie Title: Peter Crouch Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 22:09:44 Yeah that's wrong. Don't know how they've managed that. He got two against Wigan, one against Everton, one against West Brom, one against Newcastle, one against Fulham and another against Newcastle.
One was originally given as an own goal but later awarded to him. Title: Peter Crouch Post by: adje on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 22:16:38 I think they're both shit-and if we dont have Rooney and Owen on the pitch for 90 minutes in every game we'll be fucked. That's my opinion-but I guess its worthless 'cos I've not been at any games they've played in!

If available Rooney and Owen will start....no doubt, but football is a funny old game and in 66 you couldn't imagine England doing anything without a fit in form Jimmy Greaves. I'd pick bent in the England squad along with defoe(obviously along with owen and roons) "waits to get attacked" Title: Peter Crouch Post by: Luci on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 22:49:39 Quote from: "Devon Red" Quote I think they're both shit-and if we dont have Rooney and Owen on the pitch for 90 minutes in every game we'll be fucked. That's my opinion-but I guess its worthless 'cos I've not been at any games they've played in! Title: Peter Crouch Post by: flammableBen on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 23:42:04 take all 5
Title: Peter Crouch Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, 00:48:18 I'd probably take all 5 too. If you want someone who can hold the ball up well, Crouchy is your man. He's superb at that.
Title: Peter Crouch Post by: McLovin on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, 00:49:51 I thought a usual World Cup squad had 5 strikers anyway... seems a no-brainer.
Title: Peter Crouch Post by: flammableBen on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, 00:59:52 I think we should risk it and take 1 keeper. Imagine winning the world cup final with peter crouch in goal. would be the best thing ever.
