None taken Deev but my opinion is not just based on yesterday-it was more of a generalisation. However he did give another penno away.

he has been appaling in the few games i've seen. he seems to think he's beckham playing the quaterback role. before he used to enjoy breaking peoples bones but now he doesn't even tackle. bring back bullock

rhys conceded the penalty according to the radio

And if it wasn't Rhys, it was Jenkins as he was the defender involved - I don't recall Gurney being near the incident.  The only "silly" freekick he conceded was when he made a late challenge on that twat Thorpe (which I bloody enjoyed!).  I think Gurney was good yesterday, especially considering he is not a centre-back.  I think he should be made captain, as he seems to be the only vocal player on the pitch at the moment.

Adje,

Gurney is always shit when you are there, yet he always plays well when you arent!!!

He didnt give the penalty away, if has been suggested that he was pulling Thorpe shirt, but Thorpe went forward and in the air. A shirt pull would have brought him backwards. Total cheating dive....

Not according to The Times; League One The Times March 20, 2006 March 20: League One round-up BLACKPOOL (0) 1 PORT VALE (0) 0 Blackpool manager Simon Grayson: It’s now about results more than performances. It wasn’t the most fluent of games with the pitch and a swirling wind but it’s a major boost for the club. We know anything can happen in the next nine games but we are confident.Port Vale manager Martin Foyle: It’s a results industry and people will not look at how we played, how we worked hard and how we should have come away with at least a point. We did everything OK apart from finishing off our chances and we tried to play some football on an awful pitch.Blinder: Peter ClarkeStinker: Rory PrendergastAFC BOURNEMOUTH (1) 1 YEOVIL TOWN (0) 0Bournemouth assistant manager Richard O’Kelly: Steve Fletcher gives us something different. He is a strong character and we need as many of them as we’ve got. It was the proverbial six-pointer and it was a very important victory, so hopefully we can go on and get a few more now.Yeovil boss Steve Thompson: A lot has been said in the dressing-room. Sometimes we have a two-way discussion, but it was all about me telling the players what situation we are in and in some cases where we were letting ourselves down.Blinder: James HayterStinker: Daniel WebbBRADFORD CITY (0) 1 OLDHAM ATHLETIC (3) 4Bradford manager Colin Todd: We have a terrible record against Oldham in that we have lost all four matches against them in the last two seasons, but that is no excuse for our performance. After a 4-1 defeat people will look at the goalkeeper and back four, but the midfield have got to function.Oldham manager Ronnie Moore: The first half was as good as we’ve played all season — we would have murdered anyone in that first 45 minutes. It could have been four or five (in the first half) because their goalkeeper made a couple of good saves.Blinder: Chris TaylorStinker: Steve ClaridgeBRISTOL CITY (3) 6 GILLINGHAM (0) 0Bristol City manager Gary Johnson: We were in their faces from the first minute. It may have looked easy from then on but the truth was that we demoralised them with our start. We’ve turned our form around and it’s now 32 points from the last 18 games.Gillingham manager Ronnie Jepson: Take nothing away from Bristol City, but we had no tempo to our play from the start. It was the worst display since I took charge, but there is no use in feeling sorry for ourselves. We have to set about getting the three or four wins we need to stay up.Blinder: Louis CareyStinker: Leon JohnsonCHESTERFIELD (1) 1 SCUNTHORPE UNITED (0) 2Chesterfield manager Roy McFarland: The wind played a big part and we took advantage in the first half. We can’t get off 51 points and it’s a good thing we have those points on board because we don’t know where the next win is coming from.Scunthorpe manager Brian Laws: It was very much a tale of two halves. In the first half Chesterfield used the conditions to get the ball forward quickly. But after the break we did exactly the same to them. It was not a great spectacle but the important thing was the points.Blinder: Andrew KeoghStinker: Wayne AllisonCOLCHESTER UNITED (1) 1 SWINDON TOWN (0) 0Colchester manager Phil Parkinson: It was a massive game, it was hugely important to the lads to get out there and get the three points. They did exceptionally well, created some great chances and were also solid at the back to help seal this win.Swindon manager Iffy Onuora: We played some good football and we created a lot of opportunities, but we didn’t get the breaks that we needed at times. We have five home matches in our last eight fixtures and they could be the difference between us staying up or going down.Blinder: Tony ThorpeStinker: Andrew Gurney

That is precisly the kind of post that makes you come across as a prick.  Why is Adje's opinion worthless?  Because he disagrees with you?  Mr fucking right?  This "you weren't at the game so you can't have an opinion" attitude is bull shit.  I've seen enough of Gurney this year to not be impressed with him in 2006.  Just because I haven't been away does that make me wrong.

I must say though I haven't really been impressed with most of our players.

Thats not how it was meant  :?

The way and timing of this post, lead me to believe Adje was telling Gurney to fuck off based on what his performance against Colchester which wasnt that bad really....and alot better than recent weeks....

or I also thought he might have been blaming Gurney for the penalty which again was nothing to do with him...

It annoys me how we see our players play well one week and terribly for the next three or four. Gurney is a prime example, but the rest seem to be the same, bar Evans

Are you getting confused with the Morning Star?! Last time I checked, The Daily Star was more full of 'articles' about Women with Large Breasts and adverts for 'herbal viagra' than reviews of the latest book on Trotsky and editorials discussing just how much of a fascist Tony Blair is... or have I missed something?
