Title: End of International Football ?
Post by: Reg Smeeton on Saturday, March 18, 2006, 11:22:11
....make the most of this WC because it could be the last.

The G14 clubs (in fact eighteen) have a court case coming up v FIFA, in which they argue the governing body acts illegally in using their players for its tournaments...and they'd rather run the game themselves.

This would see (leaked document ) these clubs guaranteeing themselves an annual chapions league place to the exclusion of the rest.

Mourinho has been getting in a flap because Chelsea as arrivistes are outside the group.

I hope that doesn't happen Reg, should all be on performance and qualifying etc, but money talks more than ever nowadays.

Looking forward to the World Cup incidently, especially at not having to get up at an unearthly hour to watch the games (or miss them if I was at work)
